Quality Inn & Suites Danbury Near University

Booked this hotel over others because it had an indoor pool. When I arrived, I was told pool was not open and was being renovated. The front desk told me it was on their website, which was not. I attempted to cancel and they would not. When I drove around to go through my entrance, the door was broken and would not close allowing anyone to access the inside of the hotel. I had a 3 year old with me. I attempted to cancel again due to it being an unsecure facility, but the hotel would not accept my cancellation. The window inside the hotel was also broken. I attempted to cancel with the hotel and also attempted to cancel through trip.com both to no avail. All I wanted to do was cancel and go to another hotel. They were not accommodating.

Previous reviews lead me to believe this would be clean and comfortable. I was very wrong on the clean part. Inside the room the design was nice, but not maintained. The bed was super comfortable but that's where the positive point ends. The ceiling had packing tape hanging off of it and paint peeling. There were holes in the walls where the doors made contact. The floor was peeling up in multiple places. I didn't try the couch. I saw handprints and smears on the wall above it and didn't dare. The shower was clogged and the two towels had either a mystery stain or a hole in it. This place is also two doors down from a dispensary so the entire floor smelled of ****. If you stay here, bring your own towels and cleaning supplies because even getting the front staff to acknowledge you was a feat. Don't forget the shower shoes for when the tub backflows.

The room was clean and comfortable, and check-in was smooth. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location was convenient — close to the university, with easy parking and access to nearby stores and restaurants.The room itself was simple but had everything I needed for a short stay. Overall, a good value for the price , perfect for a quick trip or business stay in Danbury.

I had a very frustrating experience I booked through *******. I was charged $63 more at the hotel than what I was originally quoted, which is unacceptable. For that price, I could have stayed at Hilton instead. What’s even more concerning is that when I repeatedly asked for an explanation, no one could give me a clear or consistent answer. This lack of transparency feels very unprofessional and, frankly, shady. I would appreciate a clear breakdown of these extra charges and an explanation for the discrepancy.

Room was trashed, random glove & blanket on ground, bed unmade, shampoo, conditioner and soaps left in both the tub and sink, and window broken. Was given a second room due to its uncleanliness. Second room reeked of smoke and chemicals, toilet wouldn’t flush, sink wouldn’t drain. Then, a drugged individual was wondering aimlessly in the hotel lobby, hallways and back entrance. Was attempting to climb walls, was kicking things, throwing his body around, and the hotel staff did not kick him out. Come to find out, it was not a hotel guest, it was someone from the gas station next door. Back door does not require key card to enter although it says you do. We felt extremely unsafe, disgusted, and regretted even choosing to stay here. We did not stay the night, we did not stay ANY of our nights we booked & paid for there. There’s a chance I’m not even getting a full refund, which is insane. I will never stay here again, and I urge you to avoid it at all costs. The morning manager was the only helpful staff. We spent less then in hour in our room before leaving around midnight to find a different hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE — Especially with Children | Health, Safety & Security Failures I stayed here March 16–17, 2026 with my wife and our 8-month-old infant. This was one of the most disturbing hotel experiences I have ever had, and I feel a responsibility to warn other travelers — especially families — before they make the same mistake. FILTHY MATTRESS: The mattress was visibly contaminated with what appeared to be old blood and bodily fluids covering a large portion of the top surface. We had an infant with us. This is completely inexcusable and a serious health hazard. BLACK MOLD: The bathtub and shower had extensive black mold growing throughout the grout and tiles. This was clearly not new — it had been building for a long time with no attention. DIRTY ROOM: Heavy dust on the ceiling and surfaces, grimy walls, cloudy dirty windows, dirty microwave, and a strong unpleasant odor throughout the room. It did not feel like it had been properly cleaned in a very long time. FIRE HAZARD: The hair dryer in the room had severe burn marks on the power cord. This is a fire and electrical safety hazard that should never have been left in a guest room — period. BROKEN EXTERIOR DOOR — ANYONE CAN WALK IN: The side entrance to the building did not close or lock at all. It was wide open 24 hours a day. I personally watched strangers walk in and out freely with zero security — no key card, no check, nothing. Traveling with an infant made this especially alarming. POOL CLOSED — NOT DISCLOSED

Smelled of smoke everywhere, dirty old towels, bare minimum conveniences, run down. Nice staff

The stay wasnt too pleasant there was a stench in the hallways and only 2 towels provided. Breakfast was horrendous and no access to the pool was ver disappointing
