Istana Resort & Spa

Istana is one of the best hotels, I have visited. Me and my family had went on a trip to Darjeeling. There we stayed in Istana. This was one of the best trip I've had because, I got to stay in a delightful resort. Even though the extra beds and blanket provided in the room unfortunately weren't comfortable to sleep in, however the place was very peaceful and was located in a great place, the rooms were pleasant and clean, food is excellent , as well as the room services, seeing that everything was neatly arranged and ***aged it gave us an appealing vibe, the ambience of the place gave a homely and relaxing feeling, which made us feel much devoid of any worries. I was more than delighted to meet the staffs since they were very friendly, attentive and people who were very committed to their job. I picked up a few names of the staffs within the hotel who are Alex, Sarroj pradhan, Digendra thapa who were very generious, flexible and polite. I personally liked how the hotel not only focused on the outside but paid attention to the details. I believe that this is one of the best retreats I've been so far. I can truly vouch the service that was more than welcoming Overall i had a great experience and would surely recommend this hotel.

Very nice view from hotel. But unfortunately all services are pathetic, zero courtesy from staffs.. I wont recommend this place if you want to feel good about your stay.. they dont provide complementaries, room cleanliness is not maintained.. Staff at the reception till the staff for room service are very slow.. for me its a waste of money other than the view.. would not recommend this place for anyone.. they need to provide training to staff in order to learn courtesy they should provide to visitors.. totally disappointed.. same applies to the restaurant.

it was a great trip to Darjeeling with my friends I stayed in "Instana Resort" had really good experience the resort is really amazing stay was comfortable!! Room was spacious neat and clean with all amenities Service 5* Fooding 5* room 5* ..... Staffs are friendly and attentive "Special thanks to the Lady in front desk who was there for our check in, she was very helpful and welcoming gesture for anything we needed!! Thanks for amazing experience will visit again 🙂

Good location. Nice ambience. Good rooms. Nice views of Kanchenzonga peaks and Darjeeling town. One need not to visit Tiger hill for the views. Regarding food policy and water policy there is lack of transparency. For MAP plan unlike all other hotels one has to order form Ala-carte menu for dinner and they put restrictions in that. After enough discussion ***ager convinced to order with some flexibility. For drinking water they said we provide 2 ltr (500mlx4 bottles) mineral water complimentary per room and there is no option for RO water, Strange. They should really work upon this if review really matters to them. Overall good stay.
