Very good experience with hotel. Room was comfortable and the bathroom design is good. Reception staff was very helpful and provided good advice of Datong's tourist attractions. Hotel provided refreshment in the evening which was an excellent way to differentiate itself from the competition. Tried their chicken during early lunch and it was really tasty. Also, the staff kindly allowed me to play their Yamaha piano at the lobby. I would recommend this hotel to people visiting Datong.

The movie room is good, good value for money, and the projection screen in the room is large, with clear images that can be viewed even with the lights on. There is frosted glass behind the screen, and privacy is also very good. There are many hooks and hangers in the cabinets in the house, and there is a clothesline in the bathroom, so there is plenty of space to hang things. When I got up in the morning and wanted to put on makeup, I saw that the wash mirror had a light strip. After groping for a long time, I found that the switch was on the small dot next to it. It would be better if the hotel could mark it. In short, it was a pleasant stay experience, recommended.

You have to stay here! Everything is perfect. Hotel is lovely. Staff are so welcoming and helpful. We had a problem and one staff member had excellent English and could solve our problem. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Thank you again, I highly recommend your hotel.

I have to say that it was really comfortable. The staff was enthusiastic, the service was in place, the station was picked up, there were fruit snacks every day, and delicious Tremella pear soup was delivered after the trip. All kinds of bottled water and drinks were free to drink. The breakfast provided was also very fresh, and you can arrange the time for the dishes in advance. The facilities here are complete, Dyson hair dryer, mousse bedding, projection TV, L'Occitane toiletries, which are very classy. The most important thing is that this is the Wulongxiang Villa District, the environment is good, it is really quiet, and I rested well at night after a day of play. The location here is not far from the attractions in the ancient city, and you can get there by strolling. Finally, I would like to thank the beautiful girl Xiao Zhang for picking us up and taking on multiple duties. Whenever I see her, she is either cleaning the room, cleaning the yard, watering the flowers, and wiping the tables and chairs in the yard several times a day. It's just across the street from Huayan Temple. Go there when it opens at 8am to avoid tour groups and large crowds. The room is large, and the upstairs is quiet, clean, and thoughtfully provides disposable bath towels and toilet seats, as well as body lotion and facial cleanser. The proprietress is kind and friendly. Datong is not cold at the end of October. Come and experience the charm of ancient buildings in Shanxi!
A small suggestion, it would be more convenient to install a full-length mirror behind the door.

Excellent. Done in the traditional hotel style but with very modern in-room amenities. Bathroom is clean and private, with nice shower including good quality—free flow—shampoo and bodywash, clean toilet and a proper door (no glass bathrooms here!). It’s so hard to find a hotel room like this these days. Most importantly, all the staff were totally amazing, and the manager is so friendly and keen to help and can speak some English which makes things all the easier. There are quite a few shaokao and noodle places around the hotel, and importantly, the snowman drink place (蜜雪冰城) is not too far away! The hotel is just a couple of Ks south of the most popular entrance to the amazing ancient wall (大同古城), and in the other direction, about five hundred metres to another nice park called Mingtan Park where I flew my new drone for the first time ever while a local man practiced perfectly his Taoist meditation completely undeterred by the annoying whirring sound of the drone! My only regret is not planning more than a single night here. There’s so much more to Datong than just the Yungang Grottoes and the Hengshan Hanging Temple (though they are both totally spectacular!), so stay a couple of nights at least if you can.

The facilities are great. The rooms are incredibly nice, clean and full of details.
As for the staff, they are super nice. Especially Rio, the general manager, we had a problem with not being able to contact the hotel at the next destination and she did us the favor of speaking with them. Her kindness, poise, willingness, dedication and how well she speaks English saved our trip. We will always have great memories of this place and of her in particular. 10/10.

I've never wanted to review a hotel so much. I really think it's good. It's my first time to Datong. In this off-season, a high-end hotel ranked first in Datong is only more than 400 yuan a night, but I still chose the more cost-effective Manxin Hotel. We stayed for four nights. The hotel provided pick-up and drop-off services from the train station and the Yungang Grottoes. Needless to say, the decoration and environment of the hotel are very good. The key service is also very good. The mutton offal for breakfast is very delicious. It was the winter solstice, and the service staff asked us if we wanted to eat dumplings in the morning. When we checked out today, it was Christmas Eve, and they had to give us peace apples. There is usually enough bottled water in the room, and there is warm bottled water in the incubator downstairs. There are drinks in the refrigerator, all of which are free. There are also fruits and yogurt in the room every day. There is also a gym, laundry room and billiards downstairs. When eating, the clothes accidentally dripped with oil, and they were washed and dried on the spot and worn the next day. It was so happy. In short, it is perfect. I recommend people who come to Datong to choose here. 😁😁😁

It's hard to fault this hotel. Very modern, very clean, and in an excellent location for those using Datong South 大同南站, which you can see from the hotel itself.
There isn't a whole lot to do in the surrounding area, so I mightn't recommend basing yourself here for an entire Datong trip. However, as I arrived at 3am, it was a perfect spot to get a good nights sleep.
I can't give it a full 5/5 though as, for a rather generic (though indeed clean and modern) chain-style hotel room in a smaller city like Datong, I found the price to be quite expensive at over 400rmb per night.

It completely exceeded my expectations and satisfaction. My friend sent me all kinds of photos that day. , all kinds of praises have made my landlord-friendship vanity greatly satisfied and proud. In addition to being comfortable, the room is extraordinarily large and the details are exquisite. Let’s just post the photos. It is much better than the so-called five-star and four-star reservations before. In order to make people happy, Mr. Yang of the hotel also provided special reception. As expected, the gift was so considerate! Full marks 💯

GGuest UserNanshe is a brand new hotel located in the downtown area. The building itself is brand new, modeled in chinese traditional courtyard style. The area is quiet but close to attractions and shopping streets 大同不夜城. It is located next to the datong ancient city walls north gate, within walking distance to nine dragons wall, huayan temple, shanhua temple and the Southeast Yi Historical and Cultural Block. There is also a bus stop outside that goes round the area.Cab fare is less than 30 rmb to Yungang Grottoes and Datong south highspeed train station.
Friendly and attentive staff checking for allergy if any. The owner was kind enough to meet me at the train station. Breakfast is simple fare consists of millet congee with side dishes, tasty noodles in warm broth, toasts and local pastries etc. Freshly made coffee from a semi auto coffee maker. Hotel serves light sweet soup to guests before dinner. Free fruits and cookies in the lobby. Washing machine and dryer are avail for use. My room has an overhead projector with wide selection of movies. Clean and comfortable. Room has many wall sockets for charging. Bathroom is huge. Deposit 200 rmb as all the facilities are brand new. Enjoyable stay. Datong is delightful a comination of the old and new.

SSirikornNice place, Nice location; you can walk to the Ancient town, I took along time to catch nice scene along the city wall, park and canal. To get the hotel from Datong South Railway Station by bus no.31 from the bus station side(the area is connected), take around 30 minutes to get there (Yungang Jianguo hotel, the hotel is opposite, only 2 CNY, many food and minimart around there. There is Muslim food there if need(next to the entrance of C(behind the building). Nice service, self check-in, clean room and relaxing. the owner, you should to contact the owner before arrive, she so friendly and always help you, she suggested us about the famous local food and restaurants(Thank you so much). If you need to buy some necessary item and cannot buy at the around minimart, you can walk to the Yonghui Superstore by East side (the next junction) turn right to Yuhe West rd. (At the corner). From the hotel tobget Yungang Grottoes, you can take bus no. 31 (Yungang Jianguo side), get off at Shi Li Dian Cun Xi ( West Shilidian village), cross to another side and catch bus no.12 to the terminal stop(is Yungang Grottoes. Take 1 hour or 1.30 to get there.

GGuest UserI did enough research before coming here and saw this B&B. I called for consultation at nearly 10 o'clock in the evening and was extremely patient in explaining. After arriving, I was not disappointed. The two children loved it. The aunt would usually lock the door, so the children could Feel free to play in the yard. When we were about to arrive, we told the time. Auntie turned on the air conditioner in advance and prepared fruit tea, which was super heart-warming. Breakfast was also extremely rich every day, and it was very cozy for the whole family to sit in the yard and eat. This B&B is right next to the commercial street. You can go shopping when you go out, but you can't hear the noise when you are in the yard. It is very close to Zini and Longjutang. It can be reached in a few minutes on foot. At night, it is just a short walk away. You can go to the city wall, admire the lights, and ride a bicycle together as a family. Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple are also nearby and can be reached on foot. Finally, I must say that the aunties at the B&B are all super nice. They are very nice and kind in both morning and evening shifts. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and will stay here again next time.

First of all, our deepest gratitude to Yang wen yuan - 杨文元.
When booking from Europe, we did not realise correctly the time required to get to the caves and to the hanging monastery (a must view when in Datong).
We thought that by using public transport we could manage to do both in a short period of time. So wrong!
We arrived and Yang wen yuan - 杨文元 reassured us and in less than 30 minutes he was able to help and book for us a private car for the next day. He made our stay unforgettable. Thanks a lot from both of us if you are reading !

JJamesHarrisI actually stayed here for three nights, in two different rooms. Both the rooms were very spacious and light, which I appreciated. The room wasn’t spotlessly clean but definitely satisfactory for the price paid. The biggest problem for me was with the bathroom. In the first bathroom, the smell of smoke seemed to be coming through the vent from another room, and in both bathrooms the shower would benefit from hotter water and better water pressure. Despite this, the manager and the sister who worked on the reception were both very friendly and helpful. The manager let me use her phone number for my food delivery(so she could speak to and direct the driver) and even drove me to the hospital to take a COVID test on my last night. They couldn’t have done more to help me and I really appreciated it. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Datong.

GGuest UserThe location is very convenient, right in the ancient city, parking is also convenient, there is a patio on the second floor, very unique, the room is big enough. The boss also gave me a fruit plate and a set of small tea sets. The next day, the aunt at the front desk wanted to give it to me, but I said it had already been given to me. It was so warm. I recommend staying in this hotel when you come to Datong Ancient City!

The service is thoughtful and enthusiastic. The mineral water in the room is delicious. When we checked out, we took the remaining water with us.
The breakfast is also delicious, with freshly made knife-cut noodles and millet porridge. I drank three bowls in a row.
It is also very convenient to travel, whether by car or by taxi, but it is quiet in the bustling city. You can walk to the ancient city by turning right. This kind of national hotel is comfortable and I will stay here next time I come to Datong.

VVSTWe enjoyed our three nights stay in this hotel. Quiet and clean except for some not so pleasant smell from the bathroom. The staff are very friendly, helpful and responsive. This includes the free pickup transport driver, the front desk staff and the janitors as well. The breakfast provided by the hotel was so delicious and nutritious, too. We enjoyed the three mornings breakfast with different menu for three consecutive days. The chef and his wife were also very cheerful to see us enjoy their cooking. 👍👍👍👍👍
This hotel is located near to Datong South Railway Station. If you are using the public bus, there are five buses passing through :#68,#66,#61,#31,#14.
Bus #68 & #66 also go to the city. The traveling time from the hotel to the city by public bus is about ½ an hour, ticket price is 2 Yuan each. It's only 20mins by taxi, 15-20 Yuan.
