Meijing Hotel

This was my first trip to Datong, and I booked three consecutive nights (July 9th-July 12th) at the Meijing Heyang Hotel. I chose it primarily because of its proximity to the ancient city. After checking in, I realized just how close it was – right next to the East Gate (Heyang Gate) of the ancient city, making access incredibly convenient. On the 9th, while I was still touring Yanmenguan, I received a confirmation call from the hotel, asking about the number of guests and any special requests, which felt very professional. Upon checking in, the room was comfortable, the bath towels were individually packed in special bags, and to my surprise, the pillows were buckwheat – a really pleasant touch. The breakfast was very homestyle; the milk was of excellent quality, forming a skin on top, and there was fermented bean curd, which was delicious. During my stay, I often saw Manager Ren on duty in the lobby. He would ask for our feedback on our stay and our experiences exploring, then enthusiastically offer suggestions, which was truly thoughtful. I've already returned to Beijing after my trip, but next time I visit Datong, I'll definitely choose Meijing Heyang again.

The hotel's location is right on the edge of Dongxiaocheng, with a bus stop directly outside for easy access to the ancient city. It's also about 900 meters from the shuttle bus stop, so overall, the location is quite good. The hotel facilities are fairly complete. Besides the usual shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, they even provide laundry detergent. The only minor inconvenience is the lack of a clothesline, which would have made things even easier. However, there's a laundry room available, which is very convenient for guests who prefer not to hand-wash their clothes. The hotel's cleanliness is generally good, with no noticeable odors. My biggest issue was that the curtains weren't very light-blocking. Especially since our room was on the east side, the sun came up early, making the room bright very early. The hotel staff were all very friendly and welcoming. There's a water station in the lobby offering some herbal teas. Given that Datong cuisine tends to be on the saltier side, a cup of tea upon returning was really refreshing. Breakfast was decent; while not super extensive, all the basic necessities were there. There are also small shops nearby that offer good breakfast options. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money and is perfect for those looking for a comfortable stay without breaking the bank.

I stayed here during the Dragon Boat Festival. The hotel thoughtfully prepared honey date zongzi in the room, which was a lovely touch when we returned in the evening. The room was quite spacious, but the bathroom door lock wasn't great. The door would get stuck, so it wasn't locked, but it couldn't be opened from either side. We had to call staff to get it open. The hotel breakfast was quite extensive, with delicious noodles, stir-fries, desserts, and yogurt. The location is decent, about a 10-minute walk to Dongmen. My room faced east, and I even caught the sunrise in the morning, which was a beautiful start to the day.

I had a very satisfying stay at Meijing Hotel. The hygiene and environment were excellent, and the location was even better. It's only a few hundred meters from the scenic shuttle bus, about a ten-minute walk. It's also quite close to Datong Ancient City, and catching a taxi is convenient. The street behind the hotel has a residential area with plenty of options for food and shopping. The hotel's breakfast was also good. Since it was the Dragon Boat Festival, the hotel even gave us Zongzi! If I get a chance to visit Datong again, I'll definitely stay at Meijing Hotel! By the way, I really love the city of Datong!

I had a very comfortable stay. The staff was incredibly patient with all my questions, and I was able to store my luggage while I was out exploring. It was Dragon Boat Festival during my stay, and they even gave me Zongzi (rice dumplings) as a gift. The service attitude was excellent!

The hotel is very close to the ancient town, making it a perfect walkable distance, and it's not noisy at all. Our room had a direct view of the ancient town. The room was clean, tidy, and had no strange smells. We really appreciated the choice of two pillows, one soft and one firm – a great touch! What was most thoughtful was coming back on Dragon Boat Festival to find two Zongzi (rice dumplings) in our room; that was so considerate! All the staff were warm and attentive. Breakfast was also good! Highly recommend!

The hotel is conveniently located about a ten-minute walk from the east wall of the old city. While the rooms aren't equipped with smart devices, they are clean and tidy, and the buckwheat pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast is just okay, but there are plenty of dining options nearby.

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment and comprehensive, user-friendly facilities. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and cleanliness is top-notch. The service attitude is excellent – truly commendable! It's conveniently located with great scenery, very close to the ancient town, which I absolutely loved. It offers great value for money and is highly recommended. You can confidently choose this hotel. The taste is really okay.
