Room facilities: I stayed in room 8061. When I took a shower that evening, I found there was no hot water. After getting soaked with cold water, I repeatedly communicated with staff. Both housekeeping and the maintenance engineer confirmed there was no hot water and that it needed repairs. Only then did the front desk offer another room for me to shower, which took at least an hour. In the end, it was resolved by changing rooms, which was a real hassle. Cleanliness: The room had a strong renovation smell. I requested an air purifier, but was initially told there weren't any. After checking several rooms and finding they all had an odor, they finally brought out one machine. Environment: The water from the bathtub came out yellow. Service: When checking out, I asked if there would be any compensation for the cold shower incident. The front desk tried to contact a manager, but the call kept failing. They told us to check out first and that they would follow up with a call later, but I never received a call after leaving.

Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale – Lured in by 'nouveau riche' decor, but breakfast was a disaster. I booked this hotel purely out of curiosity for its 'nouveau riche' (tuhao-style) decor, and I deeply regret it. I had a wonderful stay at Jixia Mountain for the previous two days, and I really regret not extending my stay there. The breakfast environment was terrible. During my stay, there were many senior tour groups, and the restaurant was absolutely packed. Getting food felt like a scramble. What I found most unacceptable was witnessing people touching every piece of fruit with their bare hands – it was an absolute nightmare for someone with a severe phobia of germs. The service was virtually non-existent. At breakfast, the staff checking cards completely ignored the queue. People were cutting in line, and no one tried to stop them. With so many people, I couldn't find a seat, and there was no one to help coordinate. In the end, I just gave up on eating, stood there, had a cup of coffee, and left. Overall, this hotel only *looks* impressive with its decor, but the actual service and breakfast experience are completely subpar. I will not book here again, nor do I recommend it to anyone who values a good experience and hygiene.

We booked four rooms, and the bedding in every single one was damp. The rooms weren't very clean either. All the staff we saw were men. Our room cards didn't work, so we had to call the front desk to open the door, but it took over half an hour for someone to finally come. We called multiple times for service, and anything we requested was delivered incredibly slowly. It's not even as good as a chain hotel. I definitely won't be staying here again.

If you're looking for a good night's sleep, definitely avoid this place!!! The hotel hosts a lot of banquets on weekends and holidays. They set off fireworks and firecrackers non-stop from 8 AM until noon. It's so noisy you can't possibly sleep, and there's no soundproofing. The hotel won't do anything about it, just tell you it's a local custom and you have to put up with it. They won't offer any compensation. The bathtub water is always yellow and never runs clear. In the morning, the sound of the next-door room being cleaned is incredibly loud. Check-out is at 1 PM, but they start calling at 11 AM, pressuring you to extend your stay or leave. Besides the decent decor, there are no benefits at all. It's definitely not worth the price.

The hotel is quite luxurious, giving off a very opulent vibe. The staff are very welcoming and enthusiastic. I didn't experience the yellow water issue in my room that some reviews mentioned. The breakfast was quite rich and varied, with specialties like steak, shrimp, siu mai, and knife-cut noodles. I tried both Kaige and the original Fenglincourt restaurant, and personally, I thought Kaige was better.

We stayed in the 'Future Castle A' package, and both kids absolutely loved it. The double-sided large TV and the slide were their favorites – they didn't even want to go out and play! Breakfast was also incredibly rich and delicious, a big thumbs up!

The service is practically non-existent. While the hotel environment itself is decent, the service is absolutely terrible. There are also very few entertainment facilities. I went to the bathhouse for a scrub and it cost over 170 yuan for a session that lasted less than 20 minutes – what a rip-off! Of course, the breakfast was even worse. No one guides you to a table, so it's impossible to find a seat. The waitstaff are rude; when asked to clear a table, they don't even bother to respond politely. It's just chaotic. It's connected to the Yungang Grand Hotel, and the staff only seem to care about whether you've swiped your room card. I put my food down on a table, and a staff member immediately asked me again if I had swiped my room card. Plus, there were tons of people who would just sit there eating for half the morning, even packing up a dozen yogurts and a pile of mangoes, and eating plate after plate of shrimp. Have they never seen shrimp before in their lives? I will never stay at this hotel again.

This is a new hotel with excellent facilities, and they clearly tried very hard, perhaps a bit too hard! It feels a bit cluttered, but overall, it's a very good option in Datong. The breakfast is extensive, even more so than many hotels' lunch or dinner buffets. Perhaps due to the recent peak tourist season, the management felt a bit chaotic, and dining was difficult due to the crowds. Next door is Fenglin Pavilion, a very famous and popular restaurant in Datong, known for long queues. Staying at the hotel allows you to get a queue number first, then go eat, which is quite convenient! Finally, regarding hygiene, again, it might be due to the crowds! The bedsheets and pillowcases had some yellow spots, but the staff really work hard.

The Yungang Grand Hotel shares the same building, with two wings – one on the left and one on the right. The interior is indeed opulent, surpassing many 'influencer-hyped' luxury hotels in the south. However, the service has numerous drawbacks. 1. The central air conditioning in the room cannot be adjusted by guests. My room was in the very corner with two windows, and the direct sunlight made it unbearably hot, even hotter than the outside hallway. 2. At breakfast, there was no one to guide guests to their seats; it was a free-for-all. There were no 'occupied/unoccupied' signs on the tables. As a solo traveler, I had to leave my phone on the table when getting food, but my seat was still taken twice. 3. They rushed checkout. I received a call to check out around 11:10 AM.
