Moshang Light Luxury Hotel (Datong Ancient City Huayan Temple Branch)

I booked this room purely for its location, which is almost central and convenient for getting everywhere. However: 1. The first room I was given had its door directly facing the corridor. From a basic understanding of feng shui, as well as visually and psychologically, it was very uncomfortable. After providing feedback to the front desk, they changed it. 2. The second room was in a corner, next to a cleaning closet. When I came back for a rest around 2 or 3 PM, there was a constant clicking noise. 3. After my afternoon nap, I pulled back the duvet to find three stains on the sheet. I checked my pajamas and confirmed I hadn't caused them myself. After reporting it, they changed it again! 4. On the last morning, while I was using the toilet, all the lights in the room suddenly went out!!! The entire hotel had a power and water outage?!!! The smart toilet lost power and couldn't even release its stored water???... I've traveled countless times, but this kind of experience is truly a first! Thankfully, the door could still open, so I promptly checked out and left, ending this ordeal!

An incredibly satisfying stay at this Chinese-style hotel in Datong Ancient City! The location is superb, within walking distance to Huayan Temple and the Great Mosque. The new Chinese-style lobby is full of ancient charm, with a fully equipped tea room and Hanfu area. The environment is clean and elegant, perfect for photos. The rooms are smart and comfortable, and the service is attentive and thoughtful. It's so convenient for exploring the ancient city – highly recommended!

Right in the heart of the old town, at the top of West Street, so you step out directly into all sorts of entertainment and dining options. They offer free parking daily via a QR code scan, which is incredibly convenient for those traveling by car. The service attitude is top-notch, and housekeeping is prompt!

I booked an inner-facing room (which I didn't mind since I was out all day). The room was long and narrow, making it a bit tricky to place luggage. The twin beds were very wide, probably 1.5 meters each, so a small child could sleep comfortably. There's a laundry room available. The hotel's location is excellent! It's right inside the ancient city, within walking distance of popular restaurants and historical sites, and very convenient for getting to the bus station. This trip to Datong left a great impression on me, and I'll definitely visit again. The only downside was that the room was very new, so there was a formaldehyde smell when I first entered, but it disappeared after about ten minutes with the air conditioning on. Overall, the hotel is good, and the service is great.

The location is fantastic! Right outside the door is the Drum Tower, making it super convenient for dining and sightseeing. All the main attractions are within a 10-15 minute walk. The staff are warm and friendly, always making eye contact and greeting you proactively. The room was clean, tidy, bright, and had a great view. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the whole room is controlled by the smart speaker 'Xiao Du', which even talks back, haha. I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Datong.

The bedding felt like sleeping on clouds, and the separate wet/dry bathroom design was absolutely perfect. Every detail exuded a light luxury vibe; staying here felt like a top-tier reward for both body and mind~ 🌟 The location is super convenient, close to everything. It was easy to get to popular foodie spots and explore the ancient city's attractions. The hotel service was also excellent; they helped with luggage storage, and there was even traditional clothing available for a fun experience!
