It was really nice staying at Ibis for the first time, first of all the room was spacious and clean. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and provided us with coffee. The hotel has very spacious and comfortable rooms. The breakfast is only Chinese, but rich and plentiful. We can't comment on the location because we always took taxis to the attractions around Datong (the wooden pagoda, hanging monasteries, and the Yungang Grottoes), but right next to the hotel are plenty of restaurants and places to grab a quick bite. The staff seemed helpful, but no one spoke English, so we had to use a translation app, which wasn't always accurate, and communication was somewhat hampered.

When you come to Datong, it is recommended to go to the Long Juxiang Hotel near the Fourth Archway. Go early and line up, the food is very good; the Nine Dragon Wall, Huayan Temple and the ancient city wall in the ancient city are all very good!
