Jingshan Wenyuan Courtyard (Datong Ancient City Huayan Temple)

Nestled in the ancient city, this guesthouse boasts lovely decor. My only minor complaint was a peculiar smell. However, the service was truly exceptional and comes highly recommended.

The surroundings were quiet, the facilities were top-notch, and the location was convenient. The service was attentive and meticulous, making for a very pleasant experience. My trip to Datong left me with many unforgettable and wonderful memories.

I booked this guesthouse for one night at the last minute, as I couldn't find a hotel room for Saturday during the tail end of my holiday. However, the experience was quite good, exceeding my expectations. Next time, I'd definitely stay for a few more days. The only minor downsides, objectively speaking, were the soundproofing and blackout capabilities. However, these are common issues for most guesthouses located in historic buildings. The room was quiet and tidy, with quality bathroom amenities. What truly deserves praise about this place is the staff. They were always friendly and greeted guests warmly, contacting me in advance about my itinerary. Upon arrival, they helped with my luggage, recommended routes, and offered sound advice. Breakfast was very enjoyable and peaceful. A touch of soft background music, however, would have actually enhanced the experience. This guesthouse is situated right behind 'A Dream of Datong', faces the pedestrian street, and Huayan Temple is just across the road. It's also very close to the city wall's climbing entrance. It's a great choice for visiting the ancient city – a true oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. This time, I only brought my child, but next time, our family of three will definitely come together to experience it.

The room was surprisingly peaceful despite its central location. The hotel boasts a superb location with convenient parking and easy access for exploring. The warm and attentive service truly made a difference. This stay in Datong gave me a fresh and wonderful impression of the city. I would absolutely come back if I have the chance.
