Tiangui International Hotel

Hotel for smokers. The positives: beds and pillows are comfortable, good location near comercial streets and near the wall. Staff were friendly. The aircon worked without issues. The negatives: The rooms are worn, the carpet is gross, everything needs proper cleaning. There was supposed to be a minibar, but it had been removed. However, the worst part was that the room smelled damp and, especially SMOKE. We did not know that when we booked the hotel, but this is a smoke-friendly hotel. There are ashtrays everywhere, people are allowed to smoke in the rooms and at the lobby. We kept waking up at night due to unpleasant odours coming from the ventilation system (because of people smoking inside the rooms). We cannot recommend it.

Average hotel at 20 min walking from the ancient city.

We stayed during summer and the central aircon is hardly working so our room was like an oven. Complained to the front desk and we were given a fan which does not help at all. Even the housekeeping lady who came to check also agrees with us. We were left to slowly cooked in our room and we couldn’t sleep well due to the heat.

The hotel was terrible. The room was dirty and had worn-out furnishings, such as torn and leaky curtains, peeling wallpaper, dirty carpeting, etc. The staff didn't speak English. Breakfast was poor (no light breakfast items or drinks). It's about a 20-minute walk to the Old Town. The price was definitely too high for such a poor standard. I don't recommend it.

The hotel’s receptionist was friendly and kind enough to help us arrange a private ride to go to the Hanging Temple. The room was kind of old but fairly clean, spacious and warm.

It was OK for a short stay.
