Rooms and spacious and good. The views are very beautiful and worth the booking here. There is sufficient parking for cars. Food is average, though variety is huge. Liquor and food are quite affordable here.

The location of the resort is its main attraction - given that its right beside the river. The a-la-carte food is also good ***** with the service. We booked a suite for 4 people from their website for 2 night - but were very surprised while checking in that the suite was actually for 2 people and 2 additional beds will be provided - this was not mentioned anywhere during the booking process and even on the booking voucher. Usually when you book for 4 people and its not mentioned that additional beds will be provided it means that there will be proper beds for 4 people. The staff was accommodating though and given that there weren't a lot of bookings due to off-season gave us an additional room which was part of the cottage. A strange thing was that upon check-in the staff was insistent that we people usually call the number given on their website in order to avoid the situation we had - but they should understand that each customer is different and its should be easy enough to mention when the accommodation would be on the basis of additional beds. Another major feedback for them is the breakfast - some of it was just not edible. Its better not to offer included breakfast with the room rather than serving such poor quality food. The paranthas had barely any stuffing, the puris were way too oily - pretty much everything in breakfast was below average or poor. Overall its a good place to stay for a night - but not that much value for money. It cost around INR 10500 per night in off season. I would expect better standards for that price.

The rooms are cheap looking but the price isn’t. One room was super smelly with dampness which they tried to mask with the overwhelming stench of a spray while we hastened to tell them to do. so we had to make do with another room. Another room had the cold water in the basin on the right but on the left in the shower and my hands were frozen, kept waiting for half an hour thinking it was the hot water system at fault. Trivial problem for a plumber to swap the connection, but no they couldn’t be bothered. Now comes the worst experience: Each of us ordered different food at dinner. The starters and soup had to be rejected. The main course was not just terrible, it was nauseating and sickening. Even the Indian tandoori bread was half burnt. And while we were engrossed in our conversations the waiters started loudly quarrelling among themselves getting into a heated argument. I had to get up and get their attention and request them to quieten down and request them firmly to not disturb the ambience. They continued! We left most of the main course untouched. In the morning We had to urgently checkout so did not have time to tell them I am not interested in the massive dinner bill they lopped on us. Paid them ‘sad money’. They shamelessly charged us knowing we hated their food and service. So if your money is hard earned and you wish to spend “happy money” think again. There are better hotels and the people of Uttarakhand are warm and friendly everywhere else. The misery nevertheless ended in happiness: when we checked out. Hence the 1-star rating for the review

Located near river side , this is good place for relaxation. Best to visit in early winters for a good sun bath and relaxation. They have the option for interconnected family rooms. Lovely garden , and way to go near the river form the resort itself. Food is also nice and they arrange bon fire for you at an add on cost.

This was my third stay at Riverstone cottages, Dehradun. What made it more special was that my son was also celebrating his birthday with his friends there. We all had a great time! Everything was just perfect. The overall rustic ambience of the place, the well maintained greens and the river nearby, was just what we wanted and look forward to, each time we go to Riverstone cottages. Kudos to the ***ager, Mr Anoop and his team who took care of all the details and made our stay very comfortable and memorable.

Beautiful location. Lovely gardens. Clean rooms. Helpful sweet staff. Mediocre food. Stick to ordering Indian only. And be prepared to go out for meals. If you want peace and quiet, go during the week. The weekend see ***y ***y people coming in and lots of noise.

Hate writing negative reviews, but here’s my experience at this place RiverStone Cottages, I stayed there in the last week of Dec ‘21. This place is highly mis-***aged. They think they have a great property, which can run on its own. There is no concept of ***agement, lower-level staff takes calls and does things as and when. We spend our hard-earned money to have a decent vacation, but such establishments completely ruin the experience with their arrogance, mis-***agement and high handedness. 1. They have no formally ***ned check-in counter, the security guy took our documents, gave us keys to the room and asked me to fill up a register. Their restaurant has a ***ager, but he hardly talks to customers, he pushes the other younger boys ahead to talk. You can hear guests yelling “call your ***ager” and no one steps up. 2. I switched on the TV and channels were not showing. The staff member asked me which channels I want to watch, so that he could recharge on TataSky. I was surprised at this question, I said “shouldn’t you have your TV system working, if you say ‘room has TV’?” The person explained that he will make a list of channels that I want, send to his MD, who will recharge the TataSky account. On seeing my list of 10 odd channels, he asked “are you going to watch so ***y channels in 3 days?”. Anyway, after an hour of slogging, it was available for me. 3. After check-in, we were hungry, I ordered room service, food didn’t come for an hour. I called up a couple of times, the guy handling the room service line is a legend called Jabar Singh (if I got the name right). He was busy, so he put the phone aside and kept me on hold. The phone was engaged thereafter. Finally food came when it came and I was told “the restaurant team is so busy right now” (as if a favour was done to bring food to my room). 4. We had requested extra mattress for our room, it was made of PU foam, as hard as sleeping on a rock. On asking them to give a softer mattress, they said “this is what we provide to our guests”. It wasn’t a great experience sleeping on that mattress. Am not sure why people rate this place as 'child friendly'. 5. The room was not clean, we thought they will clean it next day. That didn’t happen either. When asked, we were told “we clean rooms only when guests tell us to”. The room was finally cleaned on the third day of my stay, again, like someone did a favour. 6. In one of my orders, the dish was extremely spicy. I called up room service to complain that it’s too spicy for all of us. The guy on the other side said “this is how we make this dish in this place”. The guy was kind enough to take the dish back, make it less spicy and send the same to us. 7. A night before the checkout, I personally went to the restaurant to clear my room service bills. I purposely did that to ensure my checkout next morning is not affected due to their poor ***agement. 8. I requested the restaurant team to ensure that I get something next morning, since I had to c
