Port Denia

Excellent throughout. Room was neat and tidy, cleaned daily. Staff everywhere friendly and helpfull. Beffet food in restaurant , there was always a good range of hot and cold, never went hungry. Good bar service and good entertainment. Highly recommended.

A really nice place to stay, the staff are lovely, the whole place is very clean, the garden and pool area is beautifully maintained and I defy anyone not find something to enjoy in the wide variety of food available. Salads , meat and fish of every kind is on offer and the desserts are amazing. As a vegetarian there was not always the choices we have in this country but it’s a different culture and there was always something that I could have. Without fail I found every staff member very pleasant and helpful. It is a very busy family hotel so do your research before you book so you avoid school holidays etc if you prefer a quieter time, yes the walls are thin as they are in many hotels so earplugs are a good idea . This is an excellent three star hotel not five star so if you bear that in mind you will be pleasantly surprised at the value for money on offer

Great place to stay. Location, hotel staff, everything was good. We only had a 24 hour stay 9.5/10. Really missed not having tea facilities in the room 😕. Otherwise 10/10. Excellent. We got a great deal. No major issues. Lived that we had a bath and a shower. We didn't take toiletries and there were none in the room other than liquid soap by the bath, maybe because we got a very good rate for the room. Good choice of food also. Enjoyed the selection. Salad and was very fresh, very nice indeed.

Stayed for 4 weeks so we have good knowledge of the hotel. Overall the hotel was excellent- every member of staff we met was helpful, polite and friendly- I fail to see how other reviewers say they are rude!- the hotel should be proud of them. Food was all buffet service and quality was very good, with a good variety every day to suit all tastes. The dining room experience is mixed - it gets very noisy at peak times and becomes unpleasant but avoid peak times and it is good. Hotel was spotlessly clean. There has obviously been some updating and the general appearance is very good. The TV service in the rooms is very poor - unacceptable in today’s age with satellite, cable and internet options - never in our 4 weeks did we have both BBC and ITV , and for the last week we had neither due to lack of signal. Despite the couple of negatives we would definitely return as the hotel represents excellent value and is in an ideal location.

Absolutely awful experience. Reception got my booking wrong, made me pay for another room. The room was broken and doors wouldn’t lock. Tried to chase them up 3 times, they finally refunded me but didn’t refund the whole amount. I then called them once more to let them know they still haven’t paid me the full amount, they proceeded to laugh at me on the phone. Hotel is not nice, staff even worse. Man behind the phone claims his name is “Nacho Alonso” (the manager) got way too much attitude and obviously thinks he’s bigger than he actually is. Never stay again. Stay clear !!!

It started off well, the front desk lady was super nice and friendly. Always smiling and polite. When I entered my room, I realised that my request on the room allocation was not followed (room in the middle of the corridor, not top floor). The hotel is well kept but super dated. At first the room looked very clean, but when I opened the bed I found several hair of various size on the sheets. The bed made a hell of a noise every time I moved. The bedspring was so light that it moved every time I got up (which must have been very annoying for the guest below). The bathtub smelled like pee which allowed me to understand that the cleaning process is just to make it LOOK clean rather than it being actually clean. The rooms are poorly soundproofed (I could hear the neighbours' conversation on each wall as well as above and below). When I got down to the breakfast room, the staff who attended me got very upset and patronised me because I did not bring with me the keycard holder that they give you at the front desk when you check in that shows the room number (never had to do that in any hotel). I could tell the guy was close to send me back up to get it. Then when I was having breakfast and got up to get something else to eat, another staff member started to remove plates from my table. When I got back, he told me that I should have my key card's holder / paper with the room number on the table at all time so they know the table is still being used. Seriously, if you have such peculiar rules (once again, never experienced that in any other hotel in the world) you should announce it in a very clear manner upon check in. I have not been to the pool since the access was restricted (you have to register at the front desk to obtain 40min maximum use of the pool), the sauna costs 10 euros per session and the parking 15 euros. Breakfast ended at 10 am sharp (I stayed at other Port Hotel properties where the breakfast ended at 10h30 on Sunday morning - not here), the breakfast was absolutely nasty, disgusting coffee, the food was inedible. Once again, not the same standards as other Port Hotel properties. The bathroom has a soap dispenser and that's it, no bathroom accessories, no body lotion. I left the hotel exhausted due to lack of sleep and will not stay in this property again.

We stayed for 7 nights half board at Port Denia, and can highly recommend the hotel. Our room was cleaned every day, the beds and pillows very comfortable. In the bathroom were lovely pure white soft towels, along with shower gel & hand wash. As for the food…. well it can only be rated as first class, the amount of choice is unbelievable. It’s impossible to try all the dishes in the 7 nights we stayed, I’m sure we will stay at the hotel again if in that area if only to sample all the delicious food! I will just add that on our last night before checking out the next morning we had a choice of entrecot steak, chicken legs, salmon, sliced pork along with various pastas dishes, rice, vegetables, chips, baked potatoes, soup, salad bar….I know there’s lots more but just can’t remember! There is a full entertainment programme both for adults & children even though it was early December when we stayed. Well done to all staff, they really do a fantastic job!

I haven't been away since 2019 and this was also my first solo holiday with saga. I loved the hotel. The staff were helpful, friendly and sometimes really funny. The food was good and there was a choice for everyone. My room was clean and I was happy with it I was on the 3rd floor not too far from the lifts. I did hear someones tv on in the morning but I was already awake. I used the indoor pool, I wish it was a bit bigger to be honest. You need a swim cap which you can buy from reception for 2 euros, also don't forget to ask for a key card to get into the pool. its quite a walk into denia shops and the closest shops are the supermarket and chemist. I went on a 50 minute boat trip for ten euros, a little trip of the port. You can also go and watch the fishermen bring in their catches. The evening entertainment wasn't the best. There was one singer who got down from the stage and joined in with the dancing. He was the best of the week. i wished there had been more reviews on the hotel which i had struggled to find, when i decided I go to this hotel. I enjoyed my stay.
