Everything is just a normal premier inn. However, it’s 29.5 degrees in the room and 20 degrees outside. No air flow and no way of reducing the heat (I did ask staff). They don’t have A/C ok, but this is not great. They give you fans but it just blows hot air. Stayed here many times and I will again, just never when it’s been slightly warm outside. Everything else is as you’d expect.

I’ve stayed here before and really rated the hotel. However this time there were lots of dead flies on the window sill and in the bath. The last times I’ve stayed it’s been spotless. I have to say it was exceptionally hot in the room. It doesn’t have air con apart from in reception and the restaurant. It said 32 degrees on the room stat. It was around 26 outside. The windows, understandably have restrictions on. They did provide a decent fan and there is clearly nothing they can do about the extreme temperatures. Just be aware if booking in the summer months.

perfectly function premier inn, but food very bland, surfaces a bit tacky and rooms extremely hot in the heat wave. good value if the location works but beware of the hotels limitations

Hotel could do with air conditioning but, as our stay was over the hottest days of the year so far, the staff made every effort to make the rooms as comfortable as possible, with fans and iced water available. All staff were efficient and extremely friendly, particulary Simon who made us all very welcome at breakfast, with a huge variety of eggs!! Would definitely stay again, especially when its cooler.

Myself and family stayed in several rooms recently as we were attending a wedding in derby. Everyone of us had a fabulous sleep and decided to join others for breakfast as we’d all had a few the night before. It wasn’t a problem us booking late for the breakfast and it was all great and they managed to get us all in. Food was hot and freshly made. Would definitely stay again!!

Just back from a 3 night stay. Overall it was ok - a few definite areas for improvement which I shall elaborate on: Firstly the room, spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed it was incredibly dark during the daytime. The weather was very hot and putting on the lights only increased the warmth in the room. 2 fans were provided which did help to some extent, but these took out two plug sockets from being used for other things.....you can normally charge phones by the bedside tables but these were only equipped with USB-A sockets, had we known this we could have brought wires with us. The bathroom was fine but I do wish Premier Inn would actively look at replacing the bathtub with a walk in shower, the issue is getting out from the bath is the floor is on a lower level, not being in the flush of youth it can be struggle not to slip. The overall presentation of the hotel is it's a bit dowdy - front entrance needs sweeping, some of the paving is uneven and the entrance to the car park has some posts that get in the way. The restaurant and interior decor of the public areas really does need a refresh/ lick of paint to lift it's overall ambience and presentation - it's not bad it's just that it could be so much better..... The breakfast each day was ok and set us up well for the day ahead. What does make this hotel stand out is definitely the staff, they were a pleasure to deal with. A special mention Daren who recoded our keys as we extended our stay and we noticed he took time to engage not just with us but other guests too. Despite the above, the positives outweigh the negatives and I personally wouldn't have any issue staying here again if ever in the area.

I stayed here for 2 nights as I was visiting family and friends. On arrival I was greeted by a very friendly guy who booked me in very quickly. My room was clean and in good condition. One slight negative is that bath mats should be provided as standard as the bath is slippery. Yes you can request one but once you’re in the shower it’s a bit late! The new fans in the rooms were amazing and were really welcomed in this heatwave. The staff at breakfast and dinner were excellent - they couldn’t do enough to help you. The food itself was a good standard considering it’s a budget hotel. I like the fact you could help yourself to more coffee and tea in the reception area without having to ask. This is a great thing to do. I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times now and would always be happy to return.
