Place was immaculate. Room was spacious and clean. Parking was ample and it's in a good location

The self check in went very smoothly thanks to the video instructions provided by the owner, The room was clean, comfortable and modern. We were in Derby attending a family funeral and the Lodge was very conveniently positioned for visiting family members. We enjoyed our 2 night stay and would highly recommend the lodge for it's comfort and easy access to many amenities.

Beyond cute I stayed in the Chatsworth Ensuite room while away on business and it was such a refreshing change from a tired, soulless room in a hotel chain. The bathroom is beautiful and I left disappointed I couldn't stay longer to make use of the enormous bathtub. Homely touches like candles and real milk for a coffee means I hope this room will be available next time I travel. Clear instructions are provided ahead of your arrival for a seamless check in. To top it off, it was a fraction of the price of where I've stayed before. I loved it!

We stayed in the top-floor King Room (fair warning: if stairs aren’t your thing, this might not be your match), but it’s well worth it! Think huge super king bed, a bathroom that could host its own spa day with a double bath and walk-in shower, and tasteful decor that feels more ‘cosy home’ than ‘generic hotel’. Nigel, your host, clearly gets it. Fresh milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, hot chocolate — all the essentials to make you feel properly spoiled. So, if you’re after a stay with charm, privacy, and unbeatable value — The Borrowdale Lodge should be on your list. Liked privacy, quiet, clean, list of places to eat, Nigel was very helpful with our difficult overseas payment. Being from rural area it was difficult understanding security but destails were very good, just our lack of ability. I did get locked in bathroom at 3 a.m. as when I tried to get out as the lock fell out of the door handle. After trying to phone my husband as I used the phone as a torch, I ended up knocking on the adjoining wall. He finally woke up and came and opened door - it waas funny as it reminded me of when my mother in law had similar issue when she stayed at our house in the USA - payback for laughing at her! FYI vent inbathroom does not seem to work and could not open window so steam collected. Lovely place and not as noisy as a hotel.
