Close to Drake/Downtown - Filled With Amenities, Pet Friendly, Hot Tub, Theater!

Nice place I chose this place due to price, location and what it provided for the grandchildren. It was decorated cute and had a theatre in the basement. We were hoping to have smores after a day at Adventureland and a movie. Rain came in so outside was out and then the TV's didn't work. SO, it wasn't the best experience for the grands that we were hoping for. I reached out to Jesse and heard back after we were in bed. We still didn't have them working by the time we left, but we were refunded a portion of our stay. At first, she became a little defensive (like it was our fault and we weren't doing it correct because it was okay on her end) but after explaining myself, taking pics, and checking into it more, there was an issue. She was accommodating with the refund and went out of her way to let a friend back in the house to get a stuffed animal that was left behind. I did a suggestion for the suggestion box in the house and that was to have an exterminator come in. There were quite a few cobwebs, and we killed three spiders. Overall....quiet neighborhood and cozy little place to put your hat down. Cute kitchen with goodies and tons of coffee lover stuff and essentials for cooking! Highly recommend.

Consider Other Options in DSM While there were some positives to the house my overall experience was not very good. When we showed up on Friday...- The dishes were visibly dirty - There was trash (beer bottle) in the basement and it had obviously not been cleaned- The hot tub was not working and had to be heated up almost the entire night on Friday- The propane tank and the backup were both out and we were not able to have our fire on Friday night- There was a lemon slice and other trash inside the dish washer- There was a gross visible spider trap in the laundry room- Outside all the cushions were dirty- The backyard looked nothing like the photos (no attempt at growing any grass)- it was just dirt and depressing- The hot tub cover smelled really bad and there was dirt inside the hot tub- The laundry room door would not close and ruined some of the aesthetic of the basement- There were roughly 8 lights that did not work in the backyard- Under sleeping it says that the living room has 3 queen beds which is not true (there is one couch that did not fold out)Jesse was responsive with some of my issues during my stay and then the day we were supposed to leave(Sunday) he said to take up any issues with him and leave a 5 star review after. I reached out to him on Monday with my complaints. He ignored me through Wednesday, so I sent a follow up message. I sent a final follow up message on Thursday and called him, and he continued to ignore me. Please consider other options to stay in Des Moines.

State vacation We had nice relaxing stay. Watched movies In the theater area and relaxed in the hot tub. Definitely be going back
