Hotel Riviera

A lovely small hotel with a view of the lake. The breakfast was excellent quality and choice, every sweet treat you can think of, brioche with either marmalade, chocolate or crème filling were delicious, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, different choice of bread/toast, hot options of scrambled egg, small sausages and crispy bacon, fresh ham and a few cheese options. Coffee of your choice was brought to the table and fresh juice as well. The lovely woman who helped with breakfast was always on hand and even made us fresh omelettes when it was quieter. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was small but adequate for a couple, with a good shower with detachable head and good pressure. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows. We didn’t use the air con as it wasn’t so warm and any noise from outside can be easily shut out by closing the windows (but it wasn’t that noisy). Easy walking distance to the bus, ferry or trains and it looked to be a good spot for swimming when warmer.

Great location, on the shore overlooking Lake Garda . We arrived via the train, train station was about 15 minute walk down the hill. Recently refurbished room which was excellent and so was the bed. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Good location and shirt walk to shops/bars/restaurants. On the lake front with beach right outside hotel. Limited taxis in the area but good bus service to/from train station.

Super hotel, fantastic location, 5-10 minute leisurely walk to centre of Desenzano with restaurants & cafes along the way. Hotel sits on the roadside overlooking the lake, so fabulous views while eating a super buffet breakfast. We had a lake view balcony room, which although small was spotless, modern & a very comfortable bed. There is a rooftop terrace with amazing views, yes there isn’t a pool, but the lake is literally across the road for those wanting to swim. Staff were all very friendly & there is bar service in the evenings & outdoor seating with sun canopy. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel, it says it’s 3* but it far surpasses this with its location! We would have no hesitation in staying here next time in Lake Garda.

We have holidayed many years around Lake Garda so know the area well. We booked this hotel wanting to stay in Desenzano which is a beautiful town, with good train & bus access. We flew into Bergamo, got bus & train to Desenzano & taxi to hotel €10, a 5 min journey. Well what can I say about the hotel, other than it was fantastic & exceeded all our expectations. The location is fantastic, a leisurely 5-10 minute walk & you’re in centre of the town, with restaurants & cafes from the minute you exit the hotel along the route, or you can walk along the lakeside. The hotel sits on the roadside overlooking the lake. We booked a seaview balcony room. It was modern, simple, spotlessly clean, a really comfortable bed & excellent aircon. There is a rooftop sun terrace with amazing views. Breakfast was buffet & really good. Staff were lovely & really helpful. Would we stay here again - 100%!!!

Staff is very friendly but the isolation of the rooms are bad - you could here every step from the neighbourg

Great location, next to two beaches, plenty of restaurants and about a 20 minute walk to the station but we got a taxi because we’re lazy

What a really nice family run hotel this was, excellently located on the edge of town (or city as they call it) with the staff speaking English a real bonus. We had a good air conditioned room with a great view of Lake Garda, something we’d recommend you should ask for / book, as this really is the hotels USP. They offer an excellent breakfast range, but don’t do evening meals which works really well as there are so many restaurants within VERY easy strolling from the hotel and compared to restaurants in the UK we’d consider those great value. The Lake is directly opposite the hotel, and has a small “pebble” beach to easily swim from should you wish. To reach the hotel we had flown in to Verona airport, and it was a €79 taxi ride to the hotel.
