Sunrise On The Bund Hotels & Resorts Shanghai

Located in North Bund, you can see the Oriental Pearl Tower within a short walk from the hotel, and the Bund is just a bit further. During the Chinese New Year, the hotel wasn't overly crowded, which perfectly suited our preference for less bustling environments. The room itself was very spacious and well-equipped with everything you could need. There were plenty of power outlets conveniently located throughout the room. Initially, I thought our Select room would offer a clear view of the Oriental Pearl Tower and the 'three-piece suit' (Lujiazui skyline), but unfortunately, the large floor-to-ceiling window looked out onto a construction site. It felt like a missed opportunity for such a great window, and this was a slight disappointment. A friendly reminder: a deposit is required upon check-in. For my room, which cost 1048 RMB for the night, a 1500 RMB deposit was requested.

This hotel boasts a fantastic location – perfect if you want to experience Shanghai without the usual crowds. It's just a 10-minute walk to the Fair Road ferry terminal, where for only 2 yuan, you can enjoy stunning Bund night views. Ferries run until 9 PM. Right next door, you'll find Raffles City and Magnolia Plaza, so you'll have no shortage of dining and entertainment options. The hotel itself has a charming French design, exuding that classic Shanghai vibe.

The manager, surnamed Cao, at the hotel had no idea what he was talking about. I asked for rooms NOT at the end of the hall, and he gave me two rooms that were both at the end, with three walls of glass. I was supposed to check out in the morning, but the hotel said I couldn't. I was worried the soft-packed headboard might be dirty, but the hotel confidently told me their place was very clean. However, when I got inside, I saw the toilet, bathtub, and sheets were all dirty!
