I came to Detroit for work, and wanted to experience a hotel with some history. Dr. Martin Luther King, stayed here, so I thought I would experience a great stay. Boy was I wrong. Before arrival the power was out, as we called and was told that, which almost made us find another hotel, but we stayed the course and it was resolved before arrival. I was put on the "remodeled" floor, which I'm thinking it should be a pretty good stay. Once we checked in, I realized that there was no soap, only shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, as I made it through that night the next day housekeeping came by to replenish towels, I asked for soap and and was given lotion, conditioner and shampoo. I literally had to go downstairs to the front desk to get soap. And on the last night, the heat in my room went out, as it was 7° outside. I was told by the front desk staff it was a HVAC issue, a couple of hours went by and was told that the problem was resolved, which it wasn't. I called to the front desk and told them the issue. They said they were on there way. Once they arrived, they said that it should be working, but after 30 mins, I let them know it's still not working. I was told the maintenance guy was coming back, which he didn't. So I proceeded to go back downstairs to another front desk person, who told me the maintenance guy was coming from Ann Arbor and that I was on the list. So now I sit in my room at 12 am in a full sweat suit and beanie, under the covers. St Regis you are totally disrespecting your legacy. DO BETTER!!!
