Don’t change this place! A pub with charachter, so unusual these days with the majority part of chains or turned in to boutique gastro pubs. Our second stay here, rooms 6,7 are outstanding value for money. Food is very good, service is outstanding, the village beautiful but it just has soul which you can’t put a price on. No hesitation recommending and we will be back

We received a warm welcome from the staff and local customers. All of the staff take a pride in their role and the service was always excellent. A special thank you to Lorraine for looking after us. Good choice of ales and ciders and we also enjoyed the tasty menu offered in the restaurant.

(This review is being written in August 2023 before a planned change of ownership.) We booked here as somewhere to stay while we attended a large Christian gathering at the nearby showground. I work with children aged 8-11 twice a day and need somewhere quiet to rest during the day. I also have a medical condition that meant camping or caravaning would be challenging. This Inn met all our requirements, quiet, nicely fitted and close to the site. The Manor House Inn exceeded our requirements. It certainly is quiet, off any main road, and with owners that appreciate guests don't want lots of noise and "stuff" going on. The drive to the event site is easy and close enough to allow me to come back and rest during the day. They also cleaned the room, when requested, at times that did not conflict with this rest time. Breakfast was also very good with a wide choice of main options and not simply a full English or just elements of that. We tried a number of the options, all of which were much enjoyed. The bar is well stocked and includes alcohol-free options as well as the nectar of the gods (still ciders). The rooms are comfortable, and while a little tired in places, nothing detracted from our stay. The shower in our room was a walk-in with a wide, gentle "rain" type head. I can't use higher pressure types as they can cause me pain. It was so lovely to return and enter our private, warm rain shower. The staff were excellent, and a special call out to Kayleigh, with whom we had the most interactions. She was always friendly and courteous and answered all our questions. We have booked in for the same days next year and hope the new owners don't change too many things. Especially look after the staff you have. I have no hesitation in recommending the Manor House Inn for bed and breakfast and the bar. We did not try other meals as they were provided for us at the festival, but the menu looked good. That said, it is not the sort of place to come if you want lots going on. It is a quiet inn in a quiet village.

We made the booking for our two night stay 6 months prior as we were attending a wedding in the area, making it very clear that we required a twin bedded room and that my wife used a wheelchair. We had an immediate response stating that wasn't a problem and we would be put in a room with a double bed and a single bed. Also they offered use of a shower stool which we accepted. I would also add that two days prior to arrival we were asked to complete an online check in form which we did. Yet again mentioning our requirements. Upon arrival we were allocated a room with just a double bed and not enough room to manoeuvre the wheelchair. We were offered the an alternative room but this had steps to access, however it was larger and had two beds with room to manoeuvre the wheelchair. We settled on that one despite my wife who has very limited mobility having to negotiate the steps. Settling in to the room (Room 1) we noticed that it was extremely damp - and had a dehumidifier in the corner. No shower stool either - just a metal garden chair. Sadly we felt we didn't have a choice but to remain. The positives were that the staff members we dealt with were fantastic in particular the lovely lady who dealt with us upon arrival, the meal we had in the restaurant on our first night was extremely good as were the breakfasts. Its a really stunning building, located in a beautiful village. Such a shame that the room was so damp and our requirements were not noted, despite various confirmations.

A super Sunday roast, drinks and great service. We sat outside as we hadn’t booked and the restaurant was super busy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The roast pork was excellent and highly recommend this for pork lovers. Beef also lovely.

We have just come back from another visit the the Manor House Inn and as usual it never fails on food quality and accommodation. We were greeted Sally the manager who was absolutely excellent and very accommodating a true asset to the Manor House Inn. We also want to thank Joe whose bar service was excellent and he was very welcoming indeed The food as always was excellent both at dinner and breakfast. We will visit again and would most definitely recommend others to visit this excellent Inn.

The staff are extremely welcoming & helpful. Fantastic food and wonderful desert. We had tried 4 other pubs but they were either not serving food, or low quality, so we felt so pleased to find this lovely place.

Stayed here while away for business. Excellent clean accommodation. Superb friendly pub, with good food. Tremendous value for money stay, couldn’t ask for more. Will definitely return when back that way. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

We had a most delightful stay at the Manor House inn and i would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Whilst it is many years since i stayed in a pub with rooms i would go back to the Manor House Inn in a heartbeat. The attention to detail is incredible and in Sally the Inn has a remarkable Manager. Never gets flustered and her only concern being the guests. The restaurant menu is typical pub fayre but excellently cooked. The ham on from the ham, eggs and chips was unbelievably good. And, the breakfast selection was quite remarkable
