My only wish is that we could have stayed longer! What an amazing place. I would love to go back and highly recommend to others wanting a unique and thoughtful Daintree experience.

A delightful and beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of the rain forest. Beautifully appointed cabin and exemplary food and service. I just wish we could have stayed longer than two days!

A totally, perfectly unique stay. Beautiful lodge, setting, food and staff. Our experience was more than 5 star with fantastic staff who offered a caring, friendly, personal service. Sacha, Maud and the rest of the staff couldn't do enough for us, they are doing an amazing job. We were sad to leave. If you're contemplating booking, you'd be a fool not to đŸ„°

Imagine a quiet sanctuary in a rainforest with only birdsong and the quiet scuttle of hidden creatures disturbing the silence. A 1.5h drive from Cairns Airport will land you in your own cabin in the Daintree. The small but attentive team ensures you are comfortable and their enthusiasm for the environment is clear, whether excitedly pointing out a hidden nest above the breakfast terrace or recommending the excellent food. We especially loved the full length window in the shower that gave you a private view. Bed was super comfy. Close by are two excellent ice cream makers for hot days and the hop to Cape Trib is easy and short, giving plenty of time for rainforest walks and relaxation. Staff will remind you to order dinner and breakfast ahead of time to keep service smooth. We didn’t make use of the shared hot tub but we relaxed on the sofa outside our room. Plenty of bug spray at the reception and a torchlight is provided for the boardwalk to your cabin at night. As the start to a 3 week break, it was the perfect decompression chamber to begin our trip. My first visit to the area was on a rushed day trip but do yourself a favour and stop here for a few nights. You won’t regret it.

A beautiful place to stay in one of the most incredible places I’ve ever visited. The staff are a small team but do everything they can to look after you. No query or task was too small for them. We did have to leave a day early due to the inbound cyclone but the team were very helpful and understanding.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to stay in the centre of the rainforest and you don’t mind a bit of rustic charm. The cabins themselves are fairly basic and could do with a thorough clean - windows, beams etc there is a no daily house keeping but the location is unrivalled. What a place to wake up! The food was a real highlight for us. Intimate dining setting, excellent food and we felt good value. Breakfast was included. The hosts were fantastic. So polite and Sasha was super helpful providing recommendations. The location of the lodge is excellent for getting to all parts of the rainforest - Cape Trib approx 30 min drive North. We can’t compare to other lodge resorts as we didn’t stay elsewhere on the trip but we were very happy with our choice for a couple of nights.

We were greeted on arrival with scented, refreshing towels and welcome drink by Sasha the lodge’s competent manager. This set the tone for our 3 night stay with excellent, attentive service throughout. The cabins are very clean, breakfast is wonderful and we enjoyed sampling the dinner menu, which will satiate the epicurean palate. We were always met with warm smiles which is a testimony to this young team’s desire to make the most of your Daintree experience. Many thanks to Sasha, Gina and all for a very memorable stay. Exceeded expectations!

Expecting the Wilderness Lodge to be buried deep in Daintree Forest, in reality it’s about a minute’s drive off the main Cape Tribulation Road. That aside, I hoped that there would be decent length boardwalks/trails to explore deeper into the forest
however, per the girl on reception there was just one trail that didn’t take us very far at all. In fact, information for getting the most out of our stay was thin on the ground. On the plus side, the cabins themselves were suitably eco comfortable, and the rain pelting down outside added to the authentic ancient forest feeling. The roo steaks at dinner were cooked to perfection
as for breakfast the following morning, it was a frugal affair – and I really don’t understand the inflexibility around breakfast sittings? At over AUD$500 a night, our much anticipated stay fell short of expectations.

Amazing stay in the Daintree. The lodge was one of the highlights of our Australia vacation. Staff were amazing, food in the restaurant was very good. The cabins were amazing, we had two separate cabins and both were very nice, the location is absolutely amazing. We did our own walk which was awesome, didn’t see any Kasawari on the walk, but there was evidence they were there on the ground. Very glad we chose to stay at the Daintree Wilderness Lodge, highly recommend.

Daintree Wilderness Lodge Location 4/5 - Perfect for Daintree exploration. Remote and nothing around it. Staff - 5/5. Friendly and helpful. Facilities - 1/5. Nothing there except a cold plunge pool and disappointing nature trial. Room - 3/5. Comfy bed. Plenty of room. Air con worked well. Bert’s remote and quiet. Perfect if looking for a wilderness getaway Ambience - 1/5. No one there except weird bird spotters. Food -5/5. Superb. Steak was awesome. Breakfast decent Overall -3/5. Great for a 2 day getaway into Daintree.

We were looking forward to discover the Daintree by booking two nights (with breakfeasts) in this hotel at the end of July 2025. We liked the Lodges and we loved the location of the hotel for discovering the rainforest. Unfortunately : - In the first morning, we didn’t had hot water in the Cabin (and so we took cold showers). - On the second morning, we planned to have breakfeast at 7:45 as we had to be gone at 8:00 for a planned guided tour. As the breakfeast booking system needed one day prior notification and only allowed us to eat at 8:00 or 8:30, we asked if it was possible to eat earlier. Two different people of the staff confirmed to us this modification and one even asked us to be there earlier at 7:40 to finish eating right on time. Despite this, the staff refused to give us our breakfeasts before 8:00 on that morning. We had to go to our guided tour with empty stomachs (and the three breakfeasts had already been paid
). We didn’t even had any explanation/excuse from the staff. To sum up, we wouldn’t recommend this hotel due to the service.

My sister and I brought our parents to Daintree Wilderness Lodge so they could experience the best of the Daintree, and it far exceeded our expectations! The beautiful bungalows are absolutely exquisite and it was such a novelty having our own cottage and walkway. The restaurant served beautiful food and the cassowary roaming around the lodge was an added delight. It was a 5/5 experience.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The staff here are all friendly and helpful and efficient. This place was a little difficult for me as I found walking on the boardwalk treacherous. Often there is no railing. As it was raining, I felt unsafe. I admit that younger people probably wouldn’t have this issue, but it’s something to be aware of. The evening meals are adequate, but the menu needs to change on a frequent basis. It’s impossible to dry the towels in your cabin as there’s insufficient towel rails. Your cabin is serviced on alternate days. It’s a good place to stay, I think 2 ,possibly 3 nights is the most I would recommend.

An authentic wilderness experience yet resort-like accommodations. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The property was well maintained and the individual large-windowed cabins enhanced the natural experience of the rainforest without compromising comfort.

What a fantastic place with a unique atmospher. We enjoyed the secluded lovely cabins with cool bathrooms, the wilderness boardwalks, the plunge pool, and the lovely open air restaurant. My daughter and I had a wonderful time and Jason and Lee took tremendously good care of us - lovely food and all smiles. This place will really add to your Daintree experience. Highly recommended
