Ganpati Guest House

We had an incredible time at the Ganpati Guest House! The staff is so nice and make you feel at home. The place is amazing. We loved the rooftop and all the other little balcony places. Finding a peaceful place in a busy city is so lovely! A big thank you to Irasj (sorry if I spell your name wrong!) He was our waiter and he is such a hard working, nice, funny ***! He teaches us every day a little bit of India/Varanasi/Hindie. He felt like a friend and he was really polite. I hope your boss is reading this too and give you a lot of respect!! And also the rest of the staff because they are amazing!! Thank you! And I will recommend this place to everyone I know!!

The raw yet refined Varanasi experience. This is not a luxury 5* hotel. If you in Varansi, forget those and stay at Ganpati. You are in the heart of the Old City, the culture and the atmosphere. The views from the rooftop are stunning. The food is fantastic. The waiter, whose name I sadly missed, elevated our experience beyond his call of duty. He was attentive, bent over backwards whilst serving and advising on the menu, and took time and care to explain the various goings-on on the street below.

This was a second stay ten years apart . It didn’t disappoint. The location (meer ghat) is perfect, giving you access to all the action ***** the Ganges within a matter of minutes. There is a great view from the restaurant on the rooftop . I’d describe it as a no frills hotel which is very clean and provides everything you need. Staff is friendly and helpful and can arrange things like transport and guides. The larger rooms are at the front and have a balcony overlooking the river. Book one of these if you can .

The location is fantastic, right on the banks of the ganges. From the balconies of the premium rooms you get a clear view of the river and ghats. It's also very near the kal bharo and Kashi vishwanath temple. Mr amit is friendly and helpful. The best place to get a feel of the bylanes of varanasi.
