We stayed in the one room outside the entrance which was on the lower level. There was black mold on the wall and a humidifier running in the room. When we got ready for bed we noticed hundreds of bugs coming into the room through holes in the stone walls….. they appeared to be termites. We wish we could have left but we were shuttled in and had nowhere else to go. In the US some kind of accommodation would have been made but not there. Just an apology and bug spray which they left for us to use.

Casa Brandariz is an incredible find, a true gem filled with so much history. The gardens are beautiful. The dining areas and grounds are immaculate. Food is fantastic. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are very clean. The staff are extremely hospitable and attentive. It is obvious that they are very proud of their place and rightfully so. Don't miss this one. Highly recommend.

Lovely country hotel. Took taxi there from Camino since off the path. Dates to 1523 with original charm. Attentive staff. Lovely garden and restaurant. Room was not made for tall individuals so would ask at booking if that is an issue.

Have been on the Cameno for 33 days. This place was about 10 minutes outside Azura and was highly recommended. It absolutely did not disappoint. This place is a gem and the people who operate it are special with attention to detail. The dinner rivaled a Michelin star restaurant. I had the best tasting lamb leg I have ever experienced in 65 years. Perfectly cooked. Don’t miss this place or you will regret it.

Me and my wife spent a weekend in Casa Brandariz. This beautiful renovated rural building situated in a quiet green surrounding, not far from small town Arzua and half an hour from Santiago de Compostela. Plenty of sights to visit thus. Room cost was affordable. Our room was clean and tastefully furnished like the rest of this hostel, with some rooms looking like museums. The kitchen was really great with typical Galician dishes! Service is good with a very kind staff which unfortunately only speaks Spanish making communication difficult sometimes. All in all Casa Brandariz is good value for money. I can really recommend it.

We stayed here during our Camino and can't recommend it highly enough; it exceeded all expectations. Full of charm and beautifully appointed, it also has exceptional service led by Leyre, who made sure everything was perfect. The restaurant was incredible and the food fantastic. This is a bit outside the town center but well worth the short drive!

The accommodation was OK, the house is charming. But there the positive review ends. As a group of camino walkers we We were treated as nuicences. From memory the accommodation is about 11 km from the camino trail so we had to have our evening meal in Casa Brandariz. There was no food choice and alot of the group did not like fatty pork belly. For this meal we were charged €30. The following morning we waited for the kitchen staff to arrive to serve breakfast. They arrived at 08.40. The dining room did not accommodate the number of guests and breakfast was really nonexistent except for cereal and a couple of bananas. Then at 9.10 a man who I presume was Eduardo, herded us to his vehicle to return us to the camino trail, with impatient calls of " vamos, vamos". Note "breakfast" had started half an hour earlier where people had to queue for seating. It was the worst accommodation experience of our camino.

“Eduardo”????? Reviews keep referring to a Eduardo as the owner/manager. I am wondering if that man who stood in the entrance and looked at us as if we were intruders was this person called Eduardo? Spoke only Spanish, no problem, but very gruff. Absolutely no air of welcoming or explaining the layout of the facility. My wife asked about a glass of wine since there was no indication of a bar. Eduardo proceeded to “encourage “ my wife to purchase a bottle of wine for 45 Euros. Insisting that she was just interested in a glass of wine, he disappeared and returned with a glass of wine and promptly left. Help with the luggage up a short flight of stairs for two 80 year olds??? Another disappearing act by Eduardo. Facility is very charming and exquisitely decorated. It is both sad and unfortunate that Eduardo has such a gruff, unwelcoming demeanor that seems to be his personality as indicated by other writers. Food and facilities-First class. Eduardo-Lack of class. Too bad.
