Atour Hotel (Oriental Cultural Plaza, Oriental High-Speed Railway Station)

This was the best value for money stay during our entire Hainan trip. The service was excellent, and the room was clean and tidy. We even received complimentary tickets to the sauna next door, where a nice long soak helped us unwind after a tiring day.

Overall, I wasn't very satisfied. For the price of 380, I wouldn't recommend it! First, I encountered a particularly indifferent receptionist. During check-in, she coldly answered my questions. Before I could even finish asking and leave the front desk, she had already bypassed me to check in the next person. I felt instantly ignored 😅 Second, the beige bed sheet looked old. Upon closer inspection, there were many signs of wear and tear, with numerous small black spots. See the pictures for proof; those with trypophobia beware. I thought Atour, which opened in 2024, would be relatively new, but the sheets were surprisingly worn. Also, for some reason, there was a refrigerator in the room, but there wasn't one. Haha 😱 Finally, the entire hotel only has one elevator, and the long wait for the snail-paced elevator was incredibly frustrating 😤 In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend staying at a hotel that offers low-quality facilities and services at Atour's price and brand. Addendum: At least breakfast is standard at Atour 😂

The hotel is very clean, parking is convenient, and guests can enjoy a free bath at the nearby bathhouse (owned by the same person). Late-night snacks (mainly porridge and pickled vegetables) are also provided.

We checked in very late, having driven all the way from Sanya. The hotel was very new, and there was a bathhouse next door where you could shower for free. They also had late-night snacks (porridge and steamed buns) after 9 pm. The hotel only had one elevator, so the wait was quite long! Breakfast was filling, and they had freshly ground coffee!

Facilities: Excellent, standard Atour amenities, very comfortable stay. Cleanliness: Very good, the room smelled nice and was very clean. Environment: The overall atmosphere was very comfortable, and I slept very well. Service: When I was about to check out, a staff member insisted on giving me two bottles of mineral water. I said I had some, and she said, "Take them with you on the way, hahaha."

This hotel receptionist is completely unfit to work at a hotel. She called me three times in one night to ask if I was the person in the reception, what time I arrived, without verifying my phone number or checking my booking. She just kept calling. She called three times while I was driving on the highway, with less than five minutes between calls. Absolutely terrible.

I booked two rooms, but the cleanliness was terrible and the rooms were tiny. Considering the overall poor condition of Dongfang City, I checked in anyway. I went to do laundry at 9 am hoping it would dry quickly. I washed the clothes myself and wrote the room number on them. When I checked out, they were still wet and folded, with no detergent smell at all. I'd heard of some Atour laundry detergents never being replenished, but I never expected to encounter this myself. The lobby manager didn't say a word. I asked them to rewash and dry them before they would take them away. Because I'm on a round-the-island trip and can't mail them, I could only wait for them to call me after they finished drying. Two and a half hours later, I only got one short-sleeved T-shirt, and I still hadn't received a call. So I called them myself, and finally drove back to pick up the clothes, without even an apology. Seriously, I'll just stick to Ji Hotel next time.

The staff are always enthusiastic and considerate, making people feel particularly warm 😉 They will carefully take care of the needs of every guest and make people feel at home ~ The hotel breakfast is also very rich.
