Rezen Hotel Aoyue Dongfang

The front desk service is excellent. I stay here every time I'm on a business trip. The rooms are very clean. Highly recommended.

This hotel is probably the best in the East, located right in the city center, making it super convenient to get to several attractions. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, and the bedding is very comfortable. There aren't many dining options around, but luckily the hotel's light meals are quite good, so we ended up having dinner there. The front desk staff's attitude was just so-so.

The hotel is located in a bustling downtown area, making it very convenient for transportation. Both the facilities and service are excellent, especially the warm and attentive lobby staff. The complimentary late-night snack is also a nice touch and a unique feature of this hotel.

The bathroom was leaking, and during the Chinese New Year holiday, they were clearly understaffed. The elevators took forever to arrive, and there were no seats available for breakfast. The breakfast selection was limited, the pastries weren't fresh, and the soy milk tasted like it was made from powder with added sugar. Items were also not replenished promptly. While I can understand some issues due to the holiday, for a 4-star hotel (rated 5-diamond on Trip.com), I hope they'll focus on genuine management improvements instead of relying on Trip.com promotions and calls asking for good reviews to attract guests. I stayed at four hotels during the CNY holiday, ranging from a guesthouse to a standard 5-star, and while this one wasn't the most understaffed, it definitely offered the worst breakfast experience.

Rated four stars. The room size was decent, but it felt a bit dated. I stayed on the 12th floor, and the elevator service attendant, Afang, provided good service. I also saw Manager Zhao from the lobby helping out in the F&B department during the Spring Festival. However, there was an unpleasant incident on the sixth day of the New Year. When we went for breakfast, our room card was only scanned once. But when the other person went down, they were told the breakfast room card had been scanned twice and were very forcefully denied entry. We asked to check the surveillance footage, and later when we followed up, they still claimed we had used the wrong room card. Overall, I plan to try a different hotel next time.

The room was decent, for this region it's probably one of the most upscale hotels. The air conditioning was a bit too cold, and the window only opened a crack, but you could see the newly opened sports center, which looked really nice lit up at night. My main point is about the price gouging during Chinese New Year – it doubled. During summer, it's only around 300+ [yuan], but from New Year's Eve onwards, it jumped to 700 [yuan], probably due to the huge influx of tourists. For the late-night supper, which was advertised from 9 PM to 10 PM, we went at 9:20 PM and they only had century egg and lean pork congee left. The service attitude was good, and the restaurant downstairs was also decent. It's very close to Wanda Plaza, so ordering delivery is convenient, and it's easy to get a Didi (ride-hailing service). It's also near the high-speed train station.

The bath towel was a bit dirty.
