Holiday Inn Express DONGYANG HENGDIAN by IHG

The hotel's location is excellent, right across from Qin Palace, Qingming Shanghe Garden, and Dream Valley. It's just a short walk across the street, saving a lot of time and effort. The front desk staff are warm and attentive, and the room offers great value for money. Staying here is definitely the best choice when visiting Hengdian World Studios! 👍👍

We chose this hotel for our family trip to Hengdian after Chinese New Year, mainly because of its convenient location near Qinwang Palace. Being an older, established hotel, we figured it wouldn't disappoint. We arrived around 12 PM, and the front desk agent was incredibly helpful. She upgraded us to the 8th floor, the highest floor. Since we arrived early and many rooms weren't ready, she saw I was with my parents and professionally called around until she found a clean room for us to check in early. This was truly thoughtful. The room was a decent size and clean. It didn't have a mini-fridge, but other amenities were complete. Our window faced the Qinwang Palace parking lot, offering a clear view. We even got to see fireworks from our room at night! Qinwang Palace was just a five-minute walk away, which was very convenient. The breakfast was quite good, and the freshly made wontons were delicious. Finally, a massive thank you to the front desk agent at the Holiday Inn! While waiting for our car to depart, my mom left her phone on a lobby sofa. We only realized it was missing about 20 minutes after driving off. We called immediately, and to our surprise, a hotel agent answered! They had found the phone, realized it was forgotten by a guest, and kept it safe for us. We were able to retrieve it without any hassle. A huge thanks to the front desk agent and the Holiday Inn! Wishing Holiday Inn a prosperous business! 😊

Facilities: A bit old-fashioned. Hygiene: White stains on the sofa. Service: Alright. Wi-Fi Speed: A bit slow, streaming videos was choppy. Overall, this place isn't great value for money, just so-so.

Right at the entrance of Qin Palace, you can even see the palace from the window! Parking was easy, and while breakfast wasn't amazing, it was filling enough. The location is absolutely unbeatable. However, dining options nearby are quite limited.

I booked a standard king room, and based on the description, it should only differ in size from other room types. However, upon check-in, I was shocked. I've never stayed in such a dirty Holiday Inn Express. There were long hairs on the sofa cushions, footprints on the walls, unknown stains on the sink, a loose shower head holder, and the shower head itself was leaking and covered in grime. Do different room types have different hygiene standards? I tried to communicate with the front desk to switch rooms, but they said there were no rooms available and the entire hotel was fully booked. Yet, when I checked online, there were clearly rooms available for booking. It turns out the front desk just didn't want to upgrade me. I didn't even intend to get an upgrade; I just wanted a clean room of the same type. The final straw was when I dropped two pieces of toilet paper and the toilet clogged. I contacted the front desk again, completely fed up. They eventually moved me to a larger room, so I guess I should still thank the front desk, but I really don't want to stay here again.

Our company chose this hotel for a team-building event to celebrate New Year's Eve with our employees. The hotel offers a fantastic view of a scenic spot right outside the window, and parking nearby is super convenient. The room was very clean, and the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful – I'd definitely recommend staying here!
