Re The Island Plus Points... Welcoming host. Generous breakfast Bright spacious dining room The property is an authentic British guesthouse but has need of much attention. The room was so small that the bathroom door couldn't open more than about 50 degrees and was warped so couldn't close properly. The mattress has dipped on one side and could possibly last longer if turned the opposite direction. No shampoo/shower gel in the dispenser and the bathroom could do with a refit as the window couldn't be closed. Unfortunately, major investment would be needed here...perhaps The Fairfield is in better nick...

Stayed here for the Southern 100. Room was comfortable and a good shower. Quiet at night for a good sleep. Great breakfast. Went in the bar every night full of friendly people. Anthony and Celine made us feel very welcome. They were brilliant hosts. Definitely be back.

There is not one thing I could possibly fault about this place. Everything was perfect and my travelling companions would agree. Met with a smile and a good welcome from Celine on checking in and even a more further welcoming smile when ordering breakfast. Would we stay again.... without a doubt......Like i said....cant fault it. Thank you

Stayed at the Fairfield. Room was mainly clean but small, some mould in shower and everywhere would benefit from serious updating to be honest. Steep stairs to first floor rooms, so not great for elderly who have trouble with stairs. Staff super nice and very helpful, quiet at night too. Breakfast was across the road in the Island, so needed your coat to go from your room to the breakfast room. Food ok. No parking. Last minute booking and needed a twin room, close to the centre, wasn’t much availability in Douglas at less than £100 per night. You do indeed get what you pay for 😊

A great place to stay, everything that was required, nice room with 2 windows. small but adequate ensuite. tea making facilities. A great breakfast, served every day. easy for public transport , a couple of minutes to the beach.

Perfect location a few steps from the Promenade and a bus stop in quite a quiet street, 10 minutes walk to the centre. Nice and helpful hosts, room big enough with a TV and an electric kettle + tea, coffee and some biscuits, the bathroom rather small but had everything you might need. Excellent full English breakfast. If I have a chance to visit Douglas again, this B&B will definitely be my choice.

Traditional guest house, and none the worse for that. Very clean, comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Host was attentive but not intrusive, breakfast was plentiful and reasonable quality. All round excellent value for money.
