The location is on the promenade but a 30 minute walk from Douglas centre, there was not a lot in the immediate vicinity. Parking is on street (with restrictions) and hit and miss with space for our motorcycles not always available outside the hotel. The interior of the hotel is a little tired. Three of us stayed in a family room with two single beds and a bunk bed the room size was adequate but on entering it had a strong cooking type smell which remained throughout our stay. The flush on the toilet didn’t work properly, the shower was over the bath which was awkward to get in and out of and the bath itself seemed to be of thin plastic and had a little give when standing in it. The weather was hot yet the room windows had security wires preventing them from being opened more than a few inches, there was no fan and the room was stifling during the day and hot through the night. Apart from at the time of our arrival we never saw a member of staff for our entire stay. Breakfast was only available between 8am and 9am so we did not visit the restaurant. This was a last minute booking and as such our choice was limited and the hotel provided us with the night time accommodation we needed for a week but I would not return.

A spotlessly clean hotel on the seafront at Douglas, very friendly and welcoming owners, breakfast was lovely, whilst away from the main town its access to the promenarde was easy so a nice stroll wasnt an issue plus it was fairly close to the electric railway and some local shops, inside bike storage was a bonus, would definately book again

Lovely clean, cosy and comfy room. We had room 12 at the front with a sea view it was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic . The host was superb kept us up to date with messages on the booking platform even messaged to say our room was ready and we could check in early. Really pleased we chose this hotel would highly recommended. Thank you for a great stay.

Booked via Steam Packet Holidays on a winter short break and overall excellent value. Short staffed on reception so keys left in envelope for us. Allocated a twin room (we already knew this) on the 2nd floor. Room was absolutely fine, clean and tidy. You can tell this is an older hotel but that is to be expected. Bathroom also absolutely fine, spacious and modern. Slept well for the 2 nights we were here. No one on reception again when we left, so in effect didn't see anyone except the carpet fitter during our stay...which was fine for us. Breakfast not available during our stay so made our own arrangements, but plenty of places available near by.

I visited the At Caladonia three years ago and wondered if it would be the same. It was excellent back then and wondered if it would still be the same. I was not disappointed! The hotel is managed by lovely Chinese people, very polite and friendly. As I had booked only two weeks previously, I wondered what the room would be like. Room 12, at the back of the building, was amazing. It was a huge twin room with a large bathroom, a bath with shower give you the option of bath or shower. The room had an alcove where the wardrobe and tea/coffee was situated. It was obvious that the room layout had been different years gone by. The furniture looked new and everything was spotless. As it was a back room, the view from the windows was of a cliff behind the hotel, however, not a problem to me. I did sneak a look at other rooms on the same floor whilst the cleaners were around, they were all as good but different layout. The breakfast was very good but was not included in the room rate. However, I had a huge discounted price on the room so paying for it wasn't a problem. Regarding mobility, as its an old Victorian building, there are steps up to the entrance, however, there is a lift to most floors. I would certainly recommend the At Caledonia and was not disappointed.

The rooms were small but recently refurbished and everything was very clean and new. Staff were excellent. You can hear other guests in other rooms. Breakfast was very good. Hot water was late coming on one morning.

Back once again at the Caledonia for another fabulous stay! Have been staying here for over 25 years and have never been disappointed. The Caledonia is well presented in an excellent location with spectacular views over Douglas Bay. The staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, they are extremely accommodating. The breakfast's are excellent! Really good value with plenty of options for everyone. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. The recently decorated rooms are very nice indeed! The Caledonia offers a lift to all floors. Dogs can be accommodated by prior arrangement, we always bring our Yorkie and he too loves coming to The Caledonia. The staff always make him feel welcome too! Counting down the days till my next visit!
