The Westbury Hotel

Dublin City Center Dublin|0.22km from Fallon & Byrne - Wine Cellar
This hotel is 5-star price-wise only. For example, when we arrived, we have been welcomed by the Customer Care Person, who explained to us who she is, but said nothing on how she can help us and definitely nothing about the construction on the 4th floor of the hotel. So, banging starts at 8:30, which presumes that everyone is up and about at that hour. Apparently, they were supposed to notify me about it via e-mail, but someone just forgot about it... If I knew there will be construction at the hotel, I would have never stayed here. I guess that's why I never got that email... The concierge reached out to us a while ago asking why we are staying at the hotel so long. We have written to him in a reasonable detail. No response. Zero follow-up. The concierge in general was great in instructing us how we can do things ourselves. Another example. We return to the hotel at 10 pm, and our ever-hungry teenagers would like to eat something. - We are sorry but all the restaurants close their kitchens at 9:30 pm, and there is no room service. - Can we have have at least some bread and butter? (And here, the staff at 5 or even 4-star hotel would respond ”Let me see what I can do.” But instead we heard:) - No. You need to take care of it by yourself. And, it is like this, pretty much with everything service-wise at this hotel. Only the staff of the first-floor café seemed to know what they are doing. It just looks like the place lacks direction from the management that is lost and confused. To add to the ”attractions” we could hear very clearly all the water noises coming from a room next door. We also had some trouble falling asleep as the guy next door snored like a hog in heat. I also think that having the permanently screwed through cracked dial to a heated towel rack is something that I would find at a 2-star hotel, and I still would be surprised... There was 6 of us in 3 rooms, and we stayed here for 6 nights. The impressions were all the same. It's the details that matter both in the customer service and the decor, and it is simply not a case here. At the end of our stay, the front desk staff has made a scene, because we wanted a detailed invoice. Thanks to that though we found out they have charged us additional numerous positions from the mini bar, which we did NOT use. So, please be careful they will try to cheat you.

Last time I stayed here ( about 6 years ago?) room was dirty so have not been back again until three weeks ago. Location is superb right at the edge of Temple bar along the River Liffey -downside its a party area so like most Hotels in this area dont plan to sleep until late as lots of noise from bars etc. Room was lovely with lots of nice touches -only big issues I had was in 12c Dublin coming from 32c Jakarta and central heating did not work-you have to call reception to get it switched on then it cuts off every hour and does not work again until you call reception-totally unacceptable for a 5 star Hotel . Ended calling them five times so not much sleep!! It was a Tuesday night so looked like one of the bars in the Hotel was shut-but lots outside anyhow. Did not have breakfast as last time I did was served-took ages and was cold-judging by recent reviews on tripadvisor looks like this still. Reception on check in and out would not win any prizes for their hospitality and were just ok-could learn from The Morrison across the river where I stayed a few nights earlier -genuine hospitality. Would I stay there again -NO -leave it to Bono and the locals -heat is a basic requirement as is hospitality-better Hotels for the same or less money to be had in Dublin City.

The room is small, even the cup has to be placed in the cabinet. There is no way to open the suitcase. The 21st century has no air conditioning facilities. I asked the front desk. He said that if you want an air-conditioned room, you can book another room next time. He can give me a fan. I am really speechless. I really want to turn my eyes 🙄️ and stayed for two nights to get close to 3K. I am also drunk 😵‍💫.

Had 1 day layover in dub, airport ride is no more than 30 mins RT to a very near bus stop by the river, the block behind the hotel. Staff was fantastic, from front desk to cleaning personnel upstairs; hotel is very nice very boutique, its no new but it has lots of new charm; bed was great, at least for us; the most important things were on spot, clean bed, room and bathroom, good staff to start the check in right, and location which i was 5 mins walk from temple Bar pub to give you an idea and lots of places to eat in. Would 100% stay again here.

The house is small, but the facilities are complete and there is a kettle to boil water. Good location Just on the main street, walk to Trinity College for 5 minutes, go to the shopping festival for 5 minutes, and be close to the bar street.

I had to find a Hotel quickly in Dublin as my regular place was sold out. This was an incredible surprise. The rooms are advertised as smaller but honestly even though they are not large they are so well laid out it seemed much larger than it was. It had most everything I am used to such as a refrigerator, Hot water electric pot, a place to set my luggage on and hang up my clothes. It even had a decent sized shower and bathroom area. It has a good sized room safe, a fold down area for a laptop and quite a large flat screen Television with a good number of channels. The place seemed like new and was immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good and well worth the price. Tucked away a few steps off the main drag so it was quiet as well.

This hotel is not great but its location is fantastic. It is just a couple of minutes walk to the Molly Malone statue where you meet for a lot of tours for Dublin and the surrounding area. The price isn't too bad compared to surrounding hotels. The hotel itself didn't seem overly clean; however, the room had been cleaned very well. My friend and I shared a twin room and indeed we each had a small twin bed. The pillows were unfortunately flat. They hotel does provide ear plugs if requested. I also asked for a quieter room and they put us on the fourth floor facing the back of the hotel. They also provided a fan to the room when requested. The wifi worked great in the lobby but it kept kicking out on the 4th floor. I'll stay here again for the price, location and courteous staff.
