My husband and I had one room and my brother another for a visit for a family wedding. Our flight was delayed from Heathrow to Dublin. My auntie rang ahead to ask if there would be any cut off to get in, she was told no it would be fine. The same person also advised we would be able to park there for free which was also not the case. We arrived around 22.20. We could not get in as no one on reception (we thought it this was the case we’d still be able to get in an access our keys) There were a few numbers on the outside to ring. One was in hours and one out of hours. I tried both numerous times. One, no answer and the other didn’t even work. I then tried the security number to see if they might be able to help. They were surprised to receive the call and explained it wasn’t something they would normally deal with but would try and help and call me back. They never called back. We also contacted ***********. We sat in the car park for sometime. However it was getting later and we hadn’t been able to get through to anyone. We had a wedding first thing the next day and also my brother suffers from learning difficulties and was finding the whole thing stressful. We had no idea if we would be able to get in and didn’t want to leave it too late to get somewhere else to stay. We started to look at other hotels for somewhere else to stay. We found somewhere near by and checked in. We finally checked in after midnight only heard from someone at *********** at 12.30 who seemed surprised we stayed in a hotel. I said we had no idea if or when we would hear from someone so what did they ‘feel’ was an appropriate amount of time to wait to be able to get access to our room? The next day we did end up checking in but they couldn’t find our key which was concerning seeing as we were supposed to have checked in the day before. Long and short, there was no apology, no one cared and they refused to pay for us having to stay elsewhere because apparently we didn’t give them enough time to resolve the issue? So expected us to sit in the car until 12.30 without any clue or assurance we would in fact be getting in. Don’t bother staying here. Even when we did hear from *********** they never actually said we would have been able to check in anyway?
