Very good accommodation. The staff is very friendly and kind. The room is nice, tidy and clean. The breakfast is plentiful and very tasty. I especially recommend the traditional Irish breakfast for non-locals. Public transport in the city is very easy. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel that allows you to quickly get to the center.

Excellent in every sense - comfort, cleanliness, dining, facilities and personnel. A little gem in a great location. Exceptional value for money compared to most three or four star hotels throughout Dublin. My expectations of Waterloo Townhouse were surpassed. I recommend you check it out.

The worst experience I've ever had on arriving at any lodging anywhere! A woman, no name tag and she did not introduce herself, rushed out the door of the B&B as I was approaching the steps, and yelled out, "You don't have a reservation here!" Stunned, I said that I did and I pulled out a copy of my email reservation from my bag and handed it to her. She looked at it, showed it to another woman and they turned to go inside the bldg. I asked if I could come inside & sit down. After both women scanned through reservations on their computer, they evidently found my reservation. The unnamed woman then told me the price and said it did not include breakfast. I corrected her and told her to read my email copy again to see that breakfast was charged and part of the total price for the first night. The second night's lodging was done on ******* and did not include breakfast; I told her I did want to have the Continental breakfast the 2nd morning. I was then asked if I wanted to pay the bill at that time. I agreed, not wanting to prolong my encounter with this person any longer or at a future time, and feeling exhausted after 30 hours of no sleep. The room was adequate and the breakfast was satisfactory. The one bright spot in my 2 day experience here was meeting Saree, a lovely Oriental woman, wearing a name tag (the only one that I saw on any employee) and one of the receptionists that I had communicated with by email when I requested a room at the Lodge. I have to wonder if this property recently changed hands and this woman and her associates were new to the job. My parting words to her were her needs to learn how to be hospitable and do a much better job of managing a B&B. Is she the manager, or owner or maybe both? I know I would never recommend this place to anyone. I am a senior lady who has traveled much of the world and have encountered many daunting situations, but never have I met anyone this rude and thoughtless.

The hotel is in a nice and quiet neighborhood. You can walk to the city center (about 20 minutes) or take bus 39A (the stop is near the hotel). You can also easily get to the airport (Aircoach 700 takes about an hour and the stop is about 7 minutes far from the hotel). A supermarket and a few bars and restaurants are minutes away by foot. Our room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, but very small. A tea kettle and an extra blanket were available in the room. Breakfast was included in the rate and we chose the continental option, which we found good and plentiful. Irish breakfast is also available upon request. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Andreea deserves a special mention as she provided all the information we needed and answered all our questions, with a smile. Overall we had a pleasant stay at Waterloo Lodge.

+ simple room with tea kettle, medium tv with many channels, extra pillows, warm blanket, good flushing toilet, soft TP, friendly lodge staff, tesco grocery store 5 min away. - thin walls, you can hear all sounds from outside and inside, at night room becomes very stuffy, small fan, no air conditioning (I can only imagine how very hot it might get in a summer), no cold water to adjust boiling water in shower, the only shower choice is 38C or higher (how odd!), downtown is 20 min walk, no fridge and no safe. Irish Breakfast (mostly pork items) is okay, nothing to write home about, but you can get it cheaper few blocks away at many local cafes.

The Waterloo Lodge is a very comfortable small hotel in the south of Dublin with very good bus links to the city centre (regular buses 39, 39A, 38 all stop within 2mins walk of the hotel and take about 20mins to the centre) There is also a direct coach from the airport. Lansdowne Road stadium is a 15minute walk away so the area can get busy on match days. All the staff are helpful and friendly. Our rooms were comfortable and spacious with a nice shower with plenty of hot water. Tea/coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi and a flatscreen tv were all available. I would recommend the breakfasts taken in the ‘breakfast room’ downstairs. Although we only had the Continental breakfast this included a choice of eggs - all cooked to perfection - as well as cereals, yoghurts, toast, croissants, ham, cheese etc. Prices were very reasonable (€9.50 for continental breakfast or an extra €4 for a ‘full Irish breakfast’) Although there is no bar at the hotel there are plenty of bars/pubs/restaurants within walking distance. I would gladly recommend this hotel if you want a reasonably priced place to stay in a quiet part of Dublin.

Excellent staff - very friendly and accommodating. Convenient location - right across from a lot of city buses, yet very quiet and close to all major attractions, a train station, etc Very comfortable - feels like a home away from home. Extremely safe Highly recommend.
