Solglimt Lakeshore B & B

We stayed two nights at the Solglimt after attending a family wedding in Minneapolis. We chose it because of it's easy walking distance to downtown Duluth and lakefront setting. We were delighted by the array of outdoor seating options with lovely views, by the relaxed and genial hospitality of our hosts, and by the creative and delicious 3 course breakfasts. The room was comfortable, well appointed with all amenities, and spotlessly clean. We will certainly stay there again if we are in the area.

5 stars all around! Everything here was excellent-the hospitality of the innkeepers, the rooms, the breakfasts, and the view! We stayed 2 nights this week for our 5 year anniversary. We were in the Lake Superior Suite which had large windows on 2 walls facing the lake and bridge. 2 large skylights over the bed and in the bathroom let in lots of natural light. This room has a steam shower which we've only seen once before at a B&B in NJ. Super nice! Bed was comfortable. Real plants in the room and throughout the house! Beautifully decorated all through the house for Christmas. Snacks and drinks available 24/7. Innkeepers and staff were all warm and friendly. Breakfast was different both days, everything delicious and filling! My favorite part of a B&B is meeting other people. In addition to the owners/staff, we were able to have nice conversations with other couples from the cities in MN, the UP, and one more couple from TN! I work from home so don't get to talk to a lot of people so it was so nice to be able to do that each day. The Inn is super quiet with it being adults only. We will definitely stay here again, hopefully in the summer when the garden is in bloom! Very easy walk to Canal Park shops and restaurants (or a very short drive). There are spots for 3 vehicles off the street so that's also a bonus! Just a lovely place!

For a winter getaway we spent a long weekend at Solglimt in the Aerial Bridge Suite. The inn and room were beautifully decorated and solidly built. Our room overlooked the shore of Lake Superior; even in the winter the view was awesome. The inn has access to the beach which is a great place to stroll. The inn is easily within walking distance to Canal Park with its wide range of attractions, shops, and restaurants. Hosts Mary and Brian were extremely kind and accommodating to dietary needs. Would definitely recommend this place for a romantic weekend.
