Travelodge Dundee Strathmore Avenue

Can’t fault our stay here. Room was very spacious with a large bed and comfortable pillows. Room had coffee and tea with a kettle so this was great to wake up in the morning and was able to make a cup of coffee to start the day. Was offered to add on breakfast but decided against it, untill we came down the following morning and the smell of it was lovely so we decided to stay a little longer and grab a bite to eat. Hotel looks a bit run down from the outside but staff are great, very friendly and look to go out their way to just be helpful.

Stay was exactly as I expected. A spacious and spotlessly clean room. The room, and indeed the hotel, have a slightly spartan, utilitarian feel as is typical in Travelodges but everything works. Good value, plenty of parking, decent breakfast staff friendly and helpful.

Stayed in room 410 which was a large spacious family room with 2 collapsible (single) beds and small TV in the main area, and a separate double bed and small TV in a adjoining room/area. Although the room was spacious it was very sp****, consisting of 2 hard plastic chairs, 2 very narrow single beds, a double bed and only 2 plug sockets on a separate dividing wall no where near any of the beds. The bathroom was equally as bare with only a small/narrow half bath that made even showering without toppling out a task for the kids (12 & 9).

I was unable to use the wifi I'd paid for in the hotel. I connected to the hotel wifi but it failed to deliver the sign in landing page. I was able to easily but very inconveniently use several other wifis in Dundee City locations during the day. Contacting the support telephone number they were unable to help immediately but promised me an email contact. I never received it.

We spent four nights here at the beginning of March. It's conveniently located for the city with two bus routes close by and a generous carpark. The rooms were clean, comfy and well stocked with tea/coffee; and it all came at a reasonable price. The bonus in staying here was having a bar/restaurant as part of the hotel, and the menu for both evening meals and breakfast has something for everyone, including the vegetarian in our party; again the meals were affordable. The facilities at any hotel are only ever half the story and it's the staff who make or break a stay. Here the staff are cheery, welcoming and go over, above and beyond to make your stay the best they can. Particular mention here for Jacob, Christopher, Kelsey and Gary, along with thanks to those others who work hard behind the scenes. Thank you, we will be back!

Let's cut to the chase. I have stayed in many so called " quality " hotels over the years. This Travelodge does exactly as it says in tin. Uber clean rooms, exceptionally comfortable large bed with great pillows and unlimited hot water. As a bonus, the management team and team staff,under the direction of Gary, go the extra mile to make you comfortable and welcome and nothing is too much bother. I am actually staying here long term rather than rent an apartment.

The room had a wall to the adjoining lift. That kept we awake along with the road voice. Single glassed room on a main road, very poor show. This hotel needs a major refit for windows. Staff were good

The staff are very dundonian ie absolute loud mouths. You can hear the chamber maids before you see them. Surprisingly as they take about 7 minutes to clean a room you can hear their Dundee accent for a solid 3 hours every afternoon. The manager Gary is incompetent at best. The whole place plays as if the guests are secondary. The clique of staff are far more important than any guest! If you have anything to say to dispute this you need to talk to customer services, the actual staff appear to hold titles that have no meaning/influence (manager, supervisor etc. no person in this hotel holds any sway with Travelodge). Dirty, miserable, depressing hole in a depressing hole of a city run by people that don't realise they are the cheapest hotel in Dundee which is the only reason they have guests. Exterior has not been cleaned since it was opened, bird guano on windows, looks at the sign outside!

Many years ago the travelodge was fantastic all ways stayed in 1 all over the country but that's the last time no soap shower hot didn't work hand wash dispenser just on the floor by the toilet off the wall breakfast can't fault really nice iam afraid its back to premier inn
