Despite being in the desert, the RV was surprisingly clean, and all toiletries were single-use. The complimentary ATV off-roading experience was incredibly exciting, and the kids absolutely loved it. The only downside was that the sand was too soft for good sandboarding, and climbing the dunes was quite exhausting."

They have a self-service laundry room and even gifted us two white camels and two coffees! Plus, there's an all-you-can-eat hotpot buffet with beef and lamb for just 68 yuan!"

Dunhuang HuaXia International Hotel (Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring Scenic Area Branch)
"On our self-driving trip through the Hexi Corridor, we arrived in Dunhuang. Choosing a hotel in Dunhuang was incredibly difficult, especially traveling with family and needing three rooms. Luxury hotels were severely overpriced, and since we'd be out exploring all day, spending around 3000 yuan felt like very poor value for money. I looked through all the top-rated hotels and guesthouses in Dunhuang, and every single one had negative reviews. Many of the five-star hotels in Dunhuang seemed quite dated, and even four-star hotels had issues. For example, Zhongzhou had old rooms, Binhe International had difficult parking outside, and the V-Garden had a KTV on the third floor. It was genuinely so hard to choose. Finally, I picked a few hotels with decent reputations and flexible cancellation policies, planning to view the rooms in person before deciding. When we arrived in Dunhuang, the first places we ruled out were the guesthouses; their conditions generally looked quite mediocre. Next, we eliminated Zhongzhou International. From the outside, it looked like it primarily catered to tour groups, was right by the road, surrounded by shops, and appeared a bit dated. We then went to a hotel called Geyue Courtyard. Its location was extremely remote, surrounded by construction sites and repair shops – a huge turn-off immediately. The entrance was also cramped, and entering through a side door, we saw construction debris everywhere. We promptly turned around and left. Next, we went to Binhe International. The service was excellent, and they arranged a room for us, but there was a barbecue restaurant right next to the main entrance, and the rooms were quite small and cramped. We finally decided to check out the Huaxia International Hotel. Initially, I was very worried about the online reviews regarding the hotel's service and its age. However, when we arrived at the hotel lobby, it was noticeably more spacious and brighter compared to the previous hotels we'd seen. In particular, a gentleman at the front desk (I forgot to get his name) was incredibly patient. When I asked to see the rooms, they patiently showed us around, and we eventually selected a room we were happy with. During our stay, all the staff were professional and polite. Dinner at the restaurant, though simple, was of assured quality. Hu Cailian from customer service was also very responsive to all our requests and always greeted us with a smile, making our stay very comfortable. It's also incredibly close to Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring, which is very convenient. You can park your car directly in the spacious parking lot right in front of the hotel. While some room types might be older and some newer, the hotel is clearly working hard and strives to meet everyone's needs. Highly recommended."

"I did a lot of research before coming and chose Xiyu, and it certainly didn't disappoint! ✨ The environment is truly amazing, and the butler service is incredibly thoughtful. The suite is very spacious, and you can see Mingsha Mountain right from your bed – it creates such a wonderful ambiance! 🏨 Environment: The butler thoughtfully upgraded our room. It was very large and spotlessly clean, with a huge terrace. You could see Mingsha Mountain from both the bathtub and the bed. The courtyard has a pool, and the water had just been changed the day we arrived. There's also a stargazing terrace. It was just too cloudy at night during our stay, otherwise, stargazing would have been incredible 🌌. There were also cacti near the entrance about to bloom, but we didn't get to see them open. 💁 Service: Upon check-in, we received welcome fruits and a thoughtful souvenir. The butler specifically mentioned that the souvenir included lip balm because the local area is quite dry, which was indeed very considerate. The butler's service was exceptionally attentive, from handling check-in to introducing the common areas and every detail of the room. Any request made in the group chat was met with an immediate response! 🍰 Food: Afternoon tea was provided, featuring local apricot peel tea and various local dried fruits and fresh fruits. Breakfast offered both Chinese and Western options. Chinese breakfast included noodles, while Western breakfast had bread, scrambled eggs, and salad. You choose your preference the day before, and they prepare it – super thoughtful! Other: The gym has treadmills, kettlebells, dumbbells, etc., which is sufficient for basic cardio and resistance training 💪."

"This is a newly opened hotel, and the facilities are really good. The owner is also very friendly and even offered to drive us to the city center when he had some free time, and recommended some great local eateries. It's also perfect for kids to splash around in the water and play with the cats."

The front desk staff were warm and attentive, check-in and check-out were quick, and they offered practical advice for sightseeing. On-site parking was handy, making it very car-friendly. Overall, it was quiet, comfortable, with great attention to detail, and good value for money. I would definitely rebook here first when I return to Dunhuang and highly recommend it to friends traveling there!"

It's also quite close to the night market. I arrived in the morning and they immediately arranged a room for me, which was fantastic! I was worried I'd have to wait a long time for a room since I was so early, so this was a pleasant surprise. I was able to drop off my luggage and start exploring right away without any delays. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I highly recommend it! It felt very secure too."

"The hotel's location is quite good, right in the city center by the night market. Although there's no parking, they offer airport shuttle service. The restaurant on the ninth floor is fantastic for photos, with views of Mingsha Mountain. My child loved the complimentary souvenir book and made their own Dunhuang souvenir album. This hotel in the city center is super convenient for exploring the night market for shopping and dining. They offer free airport pick-up and drop-off. The hotel itself is very photogenic, and the views from the window are stunning – perfect for photos and Instagram. Highly recommended!"
