Reviews of Shore View Hotel

The hotel is in a good location, less than 100 meters from the beach, more than 200 meters from the city center and pier, and a 20-minute walk from the train station. The breakfast is rich, with bacon, sausages, fried eggs, yogurt, fruits, etc.

Stayed with my 13yr old son in a sea view room .Arrived around 11.30am asked for early check in the said if we pay £10 we can have one in an hour . We stayed in room 308 which was a bit old fashioned but clean enough . Sea view but very dirty windows so couldn’t really see much . Only 1 hand towel & 2 very small towels (one was ripped) . I only drink green tea so asked at reception but was told they don’t do green tea , there was green tea available at breakfast so he could of got a teabag from there . Breakfast wasn’t great but ok . All the staff at the hotel are very friendly & smiley which was nice . Great location . Not the best but good for the money paid .

Lovely reception and Anna looked after us so well when we arrived in heavy rain. Room with view and breakfast was excellent. Next time we would like to try dinner at restaurant

Excellent for the very reasonable price. Spotlessly clean, nice bedding and towels, well equipped room. Breakfast very comprehensive and freshly cooked. Well placed for the town and right on the beach. Ok the view from the room isn't great but presumably the scaffolding will be gone at some stage. The reception guy Romy has a good sense of humour and is very pleasant and helpful Highly recommended!

Great location, clean, affordable price, helpful staff, you cross the street and are at promenade and beach.

Very comfortable bed, clean white bed linen. 2 singles together making a super king size. Our room faced the side of the hotel next door. There was no view apart from the wall and old fridges but it was cool as the window was shaded. It was fairly quiet apart from the noisy extractor of the hotel next door. There are signs in bathroom about being careful getting and and out of the bath due to slip hazards but there was no no bath mat. When we requested one, the man on the desk said they don't have them so my husband asked for a hand towel. It's a very short bath with a high side. I am 5ft and was unable to lay down fully. I struggled to get into the bath to use the shower, the bath was very slippery and the showerhead was completely broken. When turned on, the water sprayed everywhere. There were 2 chairs, nice curtains, enough storage, hairdryer, and a fan The rusty metal bedside lights need replacing. The breakfast was awful! Watered down juice, overcooked rubbery fried eggs, overcooked jumbo sausages cut in half, terrible coffee, and some guests came down in dressing gowns and pyjamas! But maybe it's the type of hotel where that is considered acceptable. To be fair, it wasn't expensive for August, and the bed was comfortable, but we're glad it was just for one night.

Checked in at 3 o'clock checked out at six the same day ! Shower didn't work and had a crack in the tray ,scaffolding covered our window so we couldn't see out as well as being completely filthy ! We got given one towel between two people .The man on reception didn't even attempt to ask why we were checking out early.and didn't seem to really care . Avoid at all costs !

Location comes at a cost. It is more expensive considering it's very basic and also, the traffic at night - cars racing up and down the seafront creating a lot of noise. The windows were not double glazed. The hotel currently has a massive scaffold up indicating they are doing some work on it which is desperately needed. Externally, it's a beautiful old building with potential to be a stunning hotel but internally, seems more like a motel. It's quite dingy. Some of the staff were very friendly and hospitable but we encountered one receptionist who wasn't particularly helpful/bordering on rude and unsure if it was a language barrier, but the cleaner came into our room and started her work whilst we were still there and had asked her to give us a moment. The bath towel my husband used, disintegrated as he tried to dry himself - large holes started to appear in it and then bits of the towel fell off. Having the bath tub is amazing but somewhat outdated not having a separate shower. Also, elderly people or anyone with mobility issues would struggle to get in and out of the bath as it's very high. If you can book this hotel at a cheap price then it would be value for money.

We had a lovely stay at the Shore View hotel. Lovely spacious bedroom and a good bathroom, with a lovely sea view. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good too. The hotel is in a perfect position - opposite the beach, near the pier and the town with some very good restaurants. We would happily go back if the opportunity arose.

Reception staff very welcoming, professional and efficient. Lovely large room with everything needed for an overnight stay. I woke at 04.20 to the most incredible sunrise. Breakfast was really nice. Our one night stay was very pleasant. We'd definitely stay again.

Great location by the seafront they do offer a strict no access to 3pm, and rooms nice and loads of signs on trip hazzards in bathrooms plus lighting by lifts and hallway dodgy. Asked for quiet room got put next to air-conditioning units' all night. Got asked what dinner service was like and just european.

Room ok but windows are an absolute disgrace!! Balcony need rubbish cleaning and bird netting fixing.

Absolutely loved our stay desk staff lovely breakfast very good room was clean and tidy sea view will defo stay again
