I don't no why everyone is moaning so much unless they really thought it was going to be the ritz for such a cheap price! Staff were lovely, my room got upgraded to a double instead of 2 singles. Bed was so comfortable and warm...but obviously if you know how to turn the knobs on the radiators. I'd definitely stay again, great location, great price. I thank you. Keep up your good work.

I booked last minute, looking for somewhere cheap at short notice. Didn't read reviews first. My heart sank when I did. However - non-refundable, so I decided I'd stay. The lobby has more the feel of a hostel than a hotel, but it certainly wasn't bad. Guy on front desk was welcoming. Corridors could do with a freshen up but my room had clearly been fairly recently renovated and looked exactly like the pictures on *******. Spacious bathroom, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed. Well stocked tea tray, biscuits and milk well inside use-by dates. Only odd thing about the room was the curtains on the two windows were completely mismatched. I had a quiet night - didn't hear any noise from other guests at all. Would I stay again? Probably not, but only because there are other hotels in Eastbourne I prefer that weren't available this time.

Ok... good bits. The hotel is close to all amenities. We could get parking which is on the roads outside. The room was clean, although spare bed had hairs all over it like it'd been left and not washed from previous guests. Bad bits.... Always someone looking shifty sitting on the steps outside. Staff seem willing to help but don't always know how. There are definitely people on a 'scheme' that are living there. Our neighbours got in at 3.45am and was awake til 7am when they went back out!! They were so loud we called reception who had a word with them. After some quietness, we heard one guy threatening someone on the phone, saying he's going to 'cut him up with his machete' we informed the reception man and swiftly left. This hotel is not for kids!! I would not feel safe taking my children to stay here. I think the hotel rents rooms out to individuals at a low cost. However they should put paying guests on a floor of thrir own.

I booked a double deluxe room and I had asked for a LARGE bath and the Receptionist said they have standard sized bath but it was VERY small! The room was standard rather than deluxe with a few stains, rusty shower rail and surfaces needed cleaning. At least the large TV had YouTube and other options available. The Hotel has improved since it was the SO HOTEL except for the tiny baths. I only meant to stay for a couple of night but was there for a week. What really made me angry was The Receptionist was friendly up until check out and I was a loyal guest. I asked for a late check out which is free up until 12:30pm and then it is £10 an hour thereafter. I asked to pay for a late checkout at 1:30pm and unfortunately I went over that time until 2pm when I was packing up my bags. I PLEADED if I could just pay for the extra hour as I am exhausted and have had an extremely traumatic time. I argued for some time with him whilst apologising and asking if he could just very kindly make a one off exception for the extra half hour I accidently went over as I did not have the money and he said it would come out of his own pocket and they are a business. He said £20 then £15 and I said please make it £10 and in the end after saying 'God was watching me' which I said 'I know he is' he told me to forget about it so I said obviously the money does not matter. He then brought other guests into the argument and I asked why he was doing this. I have stayed in many hotels and I understood the policy and in the end I told him to take the £15 out of the £20 deposit. I was stood arguing for some time and it was extremely stressful. I explained my Father has died and I have had other trauma and I spend thousands of pounds on Eastbourne Hotels whist dealing with Council corruption over the last few years.

Myself and my wife had come away for a short mini moon after we got married. Well this hotel ruined that for us! I strongly advise people to steer clear from this hotel! When we arrived it didn’t seem right. Just an edgy feeling to it. The lift is practically a cupboard. Now on to the room! it was dirty, unclean, NOTHING like the photos. Soon as you walked in you was greeted with half the wall practically falling off. Tiniest bathroom in the world which I was sitting on the bath at the same time! We decided we would have rather of slept in our car than this place! When we checked out within an hour of being there. The guy behind the counter gave me a email address to email regarding my refund. Only for me to leave the building and have 4 emails bound e back to me because the address was not correct. So I went back to get the correct one and after the guy on the counter having a go at me like all this was my fault he finally gave me another one. Which if anyone ever needs it is pearlandpebbleshotel@gmail.com

Published pictures of the room did not meet the family room allocated to us. Room facilities were tired and dirty. Staining on flooring, bedding, pillows and in some places dangerous ( wardrobe door fell off in my hand,, sharp edges on desk, fire door handle not securely safe, pictures with broken glass in them.).Bathroom facilities were rusty and stained. We were moved to an upgrade room for the second night after complaining but the stay was ruined by then. Asked for a Manager of the hotel to call me on departure a week of chasing they finally replied with no apologies or that anything was wrong or their fault. They are saying they have standard and deluxe rooms but the hotel booking web site does not offer or show the standard so you believe you are getting what is shown. A wholly dangerous place for a family to stay.

We booked a 3 night stay at Pearl and Pebbles over the International air show weekend and stayed with my elderly Mother and 10 year old daughter. Having read the previous reviews I was slightly apprehensive but we ended up being very impressed with Pearl and Pebbles. We were given parking vouchers upon arrival and although initially I could not find a parking space (I used the local NCP for a couple of hours) I was lucky to find a space just outside the hotel. I would say that first impressions definitely count and I would recommend that the reception area definitely needs a bit of a facelift and time and thought given to the decoration of this area. Our room was great and looked newly refurbished with laminate on the floor which I think is much more hygienic that carpet. The room reminded more of a Travellodge/Premier Inn type set up. My Mother had a wheelchair and the receptionist Deep (who never seems to go off duty!!) was very helpful to us in carrying it and a down the steps to the front door and storing it on the ground floor to avoid us having to put it in the lift every time. The location could not have been better-so close to the beach and centre of town and all amenities. In a nutshell Pearl and Pebbles is in a perfect location,we had great customer service, think of a Travellodge/Premier Inn model no frills experience. They just need to keep on top of maintaining the exterior and interior appearance. All the potential is there.

We were in a standard double room. There was staining round the main light switch and damage to the wall near one of the plug sockets. One of the lights did not work and not all of the plug sockets worked. The table lamp looked like it had been bashed about and was dented. One of the windows did not close entirely and the wood was entirely rotten - the whole thing needed replacing. There was also a random wooden panel on the ceiling. In the bathroom the water pressure was poor and the hot and cold taps both ran hot. When using the shower there was no way to change the temperature and the water was scalding hot. There was also mould on the ceiling and the bath looked like it could do with a bleach. Other relatives were in a standard single and deluxe single. In the standard single the carpet was wet and there was similar problems with the shower running scalding hot without being able to change the temperate and the window being rotten. In the standard single there was also no extractor fan in the bathroom. All rooms had marks or damage to the walls. Overall, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The pictures online are just of the deluxe rooms which have been updated. However, there are clearly other rooms which need a lot of work doing to them and are not fit for purpose. It is a shame because the location of this hotel right next to the seat front is good. But we could not wait to leave.
