The Ashcroft Apartments

We are pensioners and were given a basement apartment which was freezing and the heating didn’t come on at night or in the morning. Told Colin the caretaker and he said he’d sort it out to come on from 6 pm till 12am which it came on for about ten minutes and then went off again. Each of our three night stays were the same , no heating so we had to get into bed to keep warm. We were considering buying a fan heater but were only there for three nights and couldn’t wait to leave. The steps were very steep from the car park down to the apartment and not suitable for pensioners. If you went round the front way there were more stairs to contend with. Supposed to be sound proof but very noisy with doors banging and creaking floorboards above us. Plus side… hot water was good in shower and apartment was very clean. Wouldn’t return due to caretaker not sorting the heating and being in the basement. Also could do with information in apartment on rules and regulations and general useful information like most accommodation provide anywhere else.

Our stay at The Ashcroft Apartments was extremely disappointing and frankly, disgusting. The moment we checked in, we found a severe and unacceptable lack of hygiene, specifically visible dried fecal matter on the outside of the toilet (as shown in the attached photos). This is a basic sanitation failure and made the apartment feel immediately unlivable. My wife has a serious medical condition (cancer) and multiple allergies, which makes hygiene a critical concern for her health and well-being. Finding such a major issue made her feel truly terrible and unsafe, completely ruining the start of our trip. When we contacted the owner/management to report the issue and request a refund, their response was appalling. Instead of being apologetic or accommodating, the owner insulted us and accused us of "making this up," despite the clear photographic evidence. He refused to issue a refund. The combination of filthy conditions and the disrespectful, hostile response from the owner is completely unacceptable. For your own health, safety, and peace of mind, I strongly urge everyone to avoid booking The Ashcroft Apartments. You deserve better, and certainly a host who will treat you with basic human decency, especially when a serious problem like this is raised.

Stayed to be close to hospital(sick relative). It was within walking distance so saved on parking fees. Basic accommodation for me and my two Westies. Safe secure. Supportive staff. Great place close to access to Manchester.

Stayed 2 months during building work at home, hot water only on between 5-8am and 5-8pm No heating, had to buy an electric fan heater for the room, we were supposed to be staying an extra week but came back after a night out and they had given the room to someone else, no idea how they knew we weren’t there the night before other than physically going into the room to check, we left and never went back even though they tried to give us another room. strangest thing was the caretaker guy just kept appearing when you least expect it, like he was watching you, stunk of **** and very loud at weekends in the room above.
