Best Apartments in Edinburgh

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was just as described and lived up to my expectations. The location was perfect for exploring the city, with many attractions and restaurants within walking distance. What really made my stay stand out was the staff - they were super friendly, helpful and always responded quickly to any inquiries I had. Additionally, the hotel's app made everything incredibly easy, from asking questions to checking out. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere that made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Cheval Old Town to anyone visiting Edinburgh and I look forward to staying here again in the future.”

Amazing stay! Went to Edinburgh as a surprise for my husband's birthday. The staff went out of their way to make it special and even came to the room to wish him Happy Birthday, along with a card and prosecco! They were friends, welcoming and informative. A beautiful, modern hotel and they really have thought of everything (milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, water etc). Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay extra special.

We were soles tired right off the plane after figuring out that I had no license and could not get my rental car :( I took it well pouted and walked away. We took the Tram to St Andrew's Square. We needed to be in The border lands in Peebles. We stopped at the Edinburgh Grand. The men at the desk couldn't have been nicer! They called a taxi service not once but twice! They held our bags and said that their was a bar upstairs we could wait at with a wonderful and sweet cocktail waitress and relax. They came and got us when he arrived. Carried our bags to the taxi for us. We will tell this story many times in the future and we will thing of them all fondly.

The place is really nice. Super central. Don’t get the breakfast go around the corner for breakfast great brunch spot. Nice touch having the full kitchen. I didn’t use it much but good. Take your own nespresso pods as they charge after the first 2!

Excellent location in the New Town area of Edinburgh. Staff were very friendly and efficient. My One bedroom open plan studio was very comfortable with modern furnishings and branded appliances. Handy to have small kitchen area with kitchen appliances including dishwasher and washing machine. My only criticism about the room is that despite the 3 large windows, the side courtyard location of my room meant that it was overshadowed by the neighbouring Tigerlilly hotel building. The light brown privacy curtains at the windows also dimmed the amount of light. Also recommend taking some earplugs if you are on this side of the building as the Tigerlilly bar has an outside smoking area in the courtyard so it gets quite noisy until closing time. The hotel has a nice cafe/bar in the reception area called Mayvn operated by another company. Serves light refreshments and has quite a good wine list. However, when I visited, I found the table service a bit oppressive and felt like I was being hassled to order something else, despite ordering twice in 1.5 hours.

Due to injury we had to extend our short trip in Edinburgh to a 6 week recovery. The staff were amazing, friendly, caring and made all the difference to my recovery. The hotel ammenities were great and the one bed apartment was clean, modern and spacious. Perfect location to get to anywhere in Edinburgh but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Princes street Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone

The room is an apartment-like apartment, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and a small balcony. It is very spacious and comfortable, and the interior facilities are complete, including all kinds of tableware, etc. It is also very good. The name of the guest will be posted at the door. There is a touch of fragrance in the door. Luggage can be stored. The location is good and you can walk around the city center.

Having previously stayed with my family in No 1 The Mansion Apartments in London I had booked a stay for my son in 2020 in London at that outstanding property. This was a nonrefundable booking made directly with them. Due to border closures he was unable to travel and I was told my money was in credit. I contacted them earlier this year as he was travelling to Scotland during a university break. I couldn't have been happier with the service I received. All the money I had paid 3 years ago was sitting in credit. I was able to use these credits to book both stays in the Highland Apartments in Inverness and the Braid Apartments in Edinburgh on the dates he wanted to travel. He said both apartments were excellent. Due to such outstanding customer service I will definitely book one of their properties again when we are next in the United Kingdom and will do so directly with them due to the ease of resolving such an unseen complication.

We have stayed here before as we were going to the playhouse to see a show. Very happy with this hotel that’s why we booked it again. It’s like a 5 minute walk to the playhouse. Room equipped with kettle iron and spare bedding. Rooms were warm and comfortable. The girl who greeted us on arrival was pleasant and we had absolutely no complaints. Wouldn’t hesitate to rebook here

Underwhelming reception in the bar. Pleasant staff. Not quite what we expected for the price. Location is a short walk from the train station and near Calton Hill. Not hard to get anywhere with basic fitness. The room size was huge. With plenty of nice living space. Good size kitchen, limited basic cooking pans etc. no can opener. No coffee machine. Stove, microwave oven and dishwasher all functional and clean. Bathrooms were ok, basic appearance and the sink bench had a large amount of badly patched up damage. The 2nd bedroom and bathroom was downstairs, the bedroom heater was not on and the bathroom towel rail was so hot it burnt, with a dial that didn’t work. Showers adequate. Beds were ok. Firm. The windows were a view of the building across the street and a fairly daggy lane below. So not great. Also the train station and we went to sleep listening to announcements from there. Noise was not a big problem, and we had nearly no noise from the rest of the building. Apart from some daggy hallways, bathrooms, Single slow small lift. Locked rooftop and basic reception. Our problem was the ceiling. A massive water leak all over the hallway that was not dealt with immediately. It’s obvious by the ceiling that this is an ongoing issue. I worry about the safety of the ceiling and our safety was compromised by a water on the floor. I had to ask twice for it to be fixed. Apparently maintenance had been messaged, communication was non existent. No apologies, not good enough. The price is for room size and location. Don’t expect good service or high quality.
