2 Bedroom 2 Bathroom Old Town Royal Mile by Edinburgh Castle

Rent this for the location The location was perfect, right on the Royal mile a block from the castle entrance. Comments from others about the stairway are true; if you have a full sized suitcase or physical challenges don’t rent this one, go for the first floor.

Wonderful stay! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the apartment- prime location directly on the Royal Mile, easy access to many major attractions, spacious layout, and responsive host. The entry stairs are an adventure but easy to manage for those without mobility issues. Highly recommend!

This apartment was very much in keeping with the Old Town Edinburgh atmosphere. It gave us easy access to all of the sights we wanted to see. Our youngest family member was sure we had arrived in Hogwarts as we went up the winding staircase for the first time!

Absolutely great location! We (family of 10 - ages from 8 to 78) stayed in two sister locations on the Royal Mile and couldn’t have been more happy. Both locations were clean and consistent with descriptions and we enjoyed our trip to Edinburgh. We’re pretty low key and didn’t have any special issues but felt confident if we did, the owners would have been responsive based on the registration experience. Thanks so much!

5 star location, be aware of the steps before booking This property is perfectly positioned on the Royal Mile. I was a bit concerned about noise since the street can get quite busy, but being built of stone, sound was not an issue. Paul, the property owner/manager, was quite easy to work with and even granted us early entry since our train arrived at 12:30. Everything worked in the apartment and having a washing machine was nice since we had already been traveling for two weeks before arriving. It’s worth noting that the property description says that there is a washer & dryer, but the dryer is actually just a drying rack, not an actual machine. Fortunately the weather was dry, so our clothes dried overnight.As others have said, access to the apartment is up three flights of stone spiral stairs. This will be problematic for some. We (four fit senior citizens) managed OK, but carrying heavy suitcases up and down the stairs was difficult (and scary as there is no handrail after the first floor).All in all, I would definitely stay here again, but I would limit my bags to one carry on and a backpack.
