The Balmoral Hotel

The hotel's location is excellent; turn left 20 meters out of the hotel and you're at the train station entrance. The overall facilities are great, it's just that the room was a bit small. Also, there's a J.K. Rowling room on the 5th floor.

An absolutely wonderful experience! The hotel's location and unbeatable views made our day in Edinburgh so enjoyable. It's just a five-minute walk from the hotel to Calton Hill, and getting to the Old Town, Victoria Street (Rainbow Street), and the Royal Mile was incredibly convenient. The hotel itself is a historic landmark; I even went to see room 552, with its beautifully painted purple door, where J.K. Rowling found a quiet retreat amidst the bustling city to complete her seventh book.

The Balmoral Hotel is absolutely superb! We arrived at 8 AM and a lovely Eastern European lady at reception warmly welcomed us and allowed us to check in immediately, saving us the hassle of storing luggage and having nowhere to go. A gentleman in a kilt even helped carry our bags to the room. Beyond the daily cleaning, the housekeeping staff thoughtfully organized all our small items, neatly tying up messy charging cables. The breakfast was lavish and incredibly delicious [strong][strong][strong]! It's worth noting that Room 522 is where J.K. Rowling stayed while writing Harry Potter. It features a unique pink-purple door, distinct from the other white and green ones, and an owl-shaped door knocker, adding a special charm to the entire hotel. Many Harry Potter fans even pay a hefty sum to stay in Room 522 [grin][grin][grin]!

The room window had absolutely no soundproofing, and the strong winds at night kept rattling it loudly.

The room was on the first floor facing the street, which made it very noisy. The soundproofing inside the room was also terrible. Aside from the architectural style, there was nothing else remarkable about it!

Hands down the best hotel, everything was perfect.

The hotel has a good location and the restaurant is also nice.
