Travelodge Edinburgh Central

The location is excellent, within walking distance of the Old Town attractions and the train station, with plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, including an elevator. The family room we booked had one large bed and two single beds, and it was very spacious. We were given a room on the 4th floor, which was very quiet. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and slippers are not provided, so you need to bring your own. Coffee and black tea are available in the room, and you can also get them at the front desk. The buffet breakfast is £11.99 for adults, and children can join for just an additional £1. Daily cleaning is not provided; you need to notify the front desk or hang the 'clean my room' sign on the door for towel changes and trash disposal. There's only 30 minutes of free internet per day. Considering the cheap price we paid, I still think the hotel is quite good.

The room was quite spacious, and the location is excellent, right next to a beautiful handmade bag shop. However, for a 3-night stay, no one came to collect the trash. Also, the door lock was changed from a card-insert to a sensor type, and I had to go downstairs to the front desk to get it updated. The adjustable radiator was super convenient for drying clothes. The breakfast, though, wasn't great; it felt like all the food was just reheated frozen items, and the sausages were very salty.

The hotel is very close to the Old Town, with lively areas just around the corner. Edinburgh Castle is also very close, less than a 10-minute walk away. Shopping is very convenient, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The hotel breakfast was also very generous. Overall, it's a great place to stay.
