From airport, take airlink100 and alight at haymaker. Cross the road and walk back and look for street sign COATES GARDENS . Walk up the slope till you reach the end, there you will see travel lodge right in front of you. Most attractions are walkable and you do not require to buy any bus tickets. Hotel main door facing south east, if you book rooms above main hotel door direction, you will catch morning sun and take beautiful pictures.

Medium size hotel with large room and bathroom. A bit walk from Haymarket station. Nice and friendly staff. The bathroom is quite spacious and the water pressure are high. Clean room and with window.

The hotel is average, the service is bad, there is almost never anyone at the reception, the receptionist is also in charge of the restaurant or he is almost always smoking outside. We stayed for a week and they didn't clean and we put the sign on the door and they only came in to leave cloths and take out the trash. We really didn't like it, it's a shame because the room is fine for the hotel it is.

The environment is very good and the rooms are large. It is a 20-25 minute walk from Princes Street and there are light rails to the airport and train station, which is very convenient. The hotel staff answered all questions and was quite nice.

Fine enough hotel with a couple of caveats. Firstly, whilst the fixtures and fittings in the bathroom weren't bad, the water pressure on the top floor (in the shower) was not good. Secondly, if you're looking for a 'twin room' you'll get a 'small family room', and the second bed is woeful - practically a child's bed. For a single night probably fine, but for a holiday, not great. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Paid £250 for 1 night when Billy Joel was supposed to play at Murrayfield. Concert was cancelled but decided to do the trip anyway as the room was non-refundable. For £250 the service received was shocking. Felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff on arrival, and was given a room directly opposite the entrance to the first floor. If you are a light sleeper and given rooms 101 or 102 I would advise asking for another room as it is SO LOUD with people in the hallway, banging the door and banging luggage up and down the stairs. Room was OK, bathroom needed another clean and hoover wouldn't have gone amiss on the carpet. No hairdyer in room, attempted to get one but no one at reception so gave up. Despite pre-booking breakfast when I booked the room, I was told I hadn't. In the morning they did double check and confirmed I had booked a breakfast. Wish I hadn't, hot food was gross. Overcooked, HARD sausages, I had to spit it out it was so disgusting. Seemed like they had been sitting around for hours. Overall dissatisfied with this, and can't see myself returning to any Travelodge in future.

The room, whilst clean, did not live up to Travelodge usual standards, considering the inflated price (big pop concert nearby) The light switch for the main light was dodgy(loose and ready to fall out) The shower was next to useless, a trickle and hot water took ages to come through. Breakfast was the worst I've had at Travelodge. Solid sausages, under cooked bacon, luke warm everything. Considering its in a major city, very poor, and not a good signal to give tourists. It's supposed to be Scotlands capital! Will never use that one again, and Travelodge need to spend money on it, instead of ripping us off

I am less than impressed with the hotel. Our room was damp and had water running down the walls when it rained. There was also standing water out the back, which was in contact with the wall. The window was rotting, and the paint was coming off and didn't feel safe when opening. There was a foisty damp smell in the room and on returning home the clothes that we didn't wear but had been hanging in the room smelled of damp! The bed was also the most uncomfortable i have ever slpet in, i chose travelodge over other hotels as i can (usually) guarantee a fantastic nights sleep however the bed i had creaked and cracked whenever i or my partner moved! I was also under the impression for the price I paid that I would have had a coffee machine, not just a couple of sachets of coffee. The heater in the room also kept coming up with an error message, and whenever I asked at the reception about anything, the staff had difficulty understanding me, and the language barriers were a struggle (I am british) so we never received anything we asked for and made do with 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel between two of us for the weekend! Then we come to breakfast. On Saturday the dining room was almost full, that wasn't a problem as there was a table spare and we sat down straight away. The bacon, sausage, egg, and mushrooms were empty, and it took almost 15 minutes for them to be refilled. By which point, other items were empty again, so we ate our cooked breakfast in stages rather than everything being on our plate. The sausage was dry and over cooked, the egg didn't have the normal 'scrambled egg' texture, and if i had tried powdered egg before, i would swear that's what they were serving! Sunday morning breakfast was just as bad, with there being very few items available, only this time we had to keep asking if there was more of them. The staff kept looking into the trays but never made a move for more until they were asked. It's also advertised that they were serving Lavazza coffee, which again it definitely wasn't. It came from a machine but was very weak and had a strange taste. I guess the machine needed a clean and the temperature settings adjusted? Needless to say on both mornings we left the dining area and headed into the city to buy food which is shocking as we had paid for a 'breakfast buffet'. On my previous stays at Travelodge hotels the breakfast has been fantastic and I've had a fantastic sleep but this experience has put me off booking

Hotel is in a great location. Tram line to the airport or town is a few minute walk. 25 min walk to Murrayfield which is fab for Rugby or concerts. Lift access for rooms. Bed was comfortable. Shower isn't great - you're practically standing against the taps to be under the water. Has a shower curtain which I always hate. Evening bar was open at night after a concert. Breakfast was OK, nothing to write home about. Zero parking nearby. Very pricey for a basic hotel but I guess you're paying for the location only. Frustrating when other Travelodges are a fifth of the price for the same hotel.

My wife and I needed to spend one night in Edinburgh before joining our tour party. Upon checking hotel availability, the Travelodge Edinburgh Haymarket stood out as the most attractive in terms of several parameters, and we were very happy with our choice. The hotel was clean, our room was spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful, and our evening meals and morning breakfast fitted our needs perfectly. We would certainly consider the hotel as our first option when we return to Edinburgh.

Didn’t even have a room for us! Terrible service from the reception staff. Didn’t contact us or anything now we are left waiting to find out what’s going to happen as they’re going to send us somewhere else. Do not recommend to anyone travelling in Edinburgh

Very helpful staff and a very convenient location. However, the room was very dusty and the hotel needs some maintenance (the security door lock to the second floor didn’t work; the room main light switch was faulty). Breakfast is pretty basic.

Really loved our stay at Travelodge Haymarket! The building’s old (like 150 years!) but super well looked after. Everything was clean, the staff were lovely and helpful, and the location couldn’t be better. The whole team worked smoothly and made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back!
