The location is very good, just on the edge of Calton Hill. It takes about a quarter of an hour to walk to the old town. The price is cheap. The staff is warm and thoughtful. The disadvantage is that the sound insulation effect of the room windows is average.

Best hostel I've stayed in. First time for the family and they loved it as well - good value, comfortable; great vibe; nice rooms excellent kitchen, good location. We had a two bed and three bed private room, mattresses really good. Staff very friendly, as they always are at Hostels.

Recently stayed in the youth hostel with a large group of adults and children. Great hostel, very clean and staff all very friendly. It's in a good location to easily walk to see the sights. We arrived early and they were happy for us to dump our bags in their secure room so we could do some sight seeing before check-in. Would definitely stay again.

Great location for the Playhouse, Princes Street and Leith. The en-suite room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Hostels are an affordable way to see cities, as well as in other locations, and this one is ideal. Special mention for the amazing staff, who were very friendly and helpful. The café bar is very good too!

This hostel is the best especially you’re travelling alone and exploring Edinburgh City Centre & Leith. The staff are nice and helpful, the food there is amazing, especially their Cappuccino (it’s top tier, you’ve got to have it). The rooms are tidy and cleaned, and lockers are available for you to put your personal belongings into it. Not to mention their self-service kitchen and dining room there that you could always cook your own food. I had a great time there I’ll definitely come back and stay wherever I visit Edinburgh.

Beds were comfy and rooms were clean, perfect for a one night stay if you're not looking for any too fancy. Communal areas were comfortable too and they have a room with a ping-pong table etc.

Clean enough . Very loud doors when they shut so kept up by loud neighbours at times . Could do with a bit of renovation. Overall was alright place. Bed comfortable.

Room is clean, window was cracked open (3rd floor). Laundry facilities available & working, location is very good. Intended to drop off luggage & they let us check in an hour early!
