Fountain Court Apartments - Grove

We booked 2 nights here, paying £450 plus extra for parking, but left after just one night because the experience was completely unacceptable. To be fair, staff at reception were friendly and helpful, but from there it was all downhill. We were given a disabled access room without being told in advance. It wasn’t even in the main building — it was about 150m down the road. The door was a hazard in itself, flinging open so fast after scanning the key card that it nearly knocked us backwards. No signs or warnings whatsoever. The room itself was awful: Located directly on a busy road, so lorries shook the room constantly. Every time someone flushed a toilet or ran a tap, the pipes made a horrendous echoing noise. The thermostat didn’t work, so the room was freezing cold — the display just said it needed to “restart to charge the battery.” Trying to sleep was impossible. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, and we noticed a strong smell of urine. When we stripped the bed in the morning, we discovered a large urine stain on the mattress topper. When we flipped it, the other side had huge blood stains. Clearly, the cleaning team had just turned it over instead of replacing it. This is absolutely disgusting, unhygienic, and shows a complete lack of standards. To make matters worse, the shower cup was covered in black mould. Between the freezing cold, constant noise, shaking, and filthy bedding, we cut our stay short and drove three hours home instead of enduring another night. For £450 for 2 nights (plus parking), this was appalling value and completely unacceptable. Avoid this property at all costs.

Nice spacious place. Rooms are fairly good in size and the living room is amazing !! Very well designed and good interiors! The place is 15-20 mins walking distance from old town and 10 mins from 1 mile walk. Bus stop is right outside the building. Good location, great value for money, newly done up interiors and very helping and friendly staff. 2 bedroom is Good for family of 4-6 !

Easy to reach from Haymarket station, and easy walking to Tram, city centre, Grassmarket, Golden Mile etc. can be self contained with washing machine, oven, cook top as well as usual coffee and tea making facilities. Staff very helpful with directions, restaurants, transport options. Great for the longer stay.

Great hotel. Stayed in a suite and it was very good. Room needed some work, but was well apportioned and the bed was super comfortable. Nice location - close walk to most everything. Highly recommend.

Spacous, clean and lovely apartment suites! Staff at the reception are very friendly. We enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived, until we left. Will definately stay again.

Solid place to stay within a 20 walking distance to the Old Town and New Town. The area feels safe and you can clearly see the rejuvenation of the surrounding area. Apartment was a good size. The street outside gets noisy on the weekends. Pretty good value for the money The staff were great. They go out of their way to make sure needs are met.
