Destiny Student - Holyrood (Brae House)

The hotel is located near Arthur's Seat, in a quiet and upscale area. The room is small but cozy, and there's a shared kitchen and dining area. Many University of Edinburgh students live here.

Everything was great. It's open 24/7, and online check-in is available, which saves a lot of time. We booked a studio, and the room was clean, with a microwave, fridge, stove, and dishes. There was unlimited hot water, and towels were provided with the key. The city center is a pleasant 25-minute walk away.

The room was clean and the facilities were fairly complete, though a bit small. It would be perfectly fine as student accommodation. However, as a commercial rental, the price is quite steep; at around 1200 including tax, the value for money isn't great. Because it's dormitory-style with area doors (each area having five or six rooms) and shared kitchen doors, the sound insulation is poor, so it can get quite noisy. There's often a chorus of loud doors opening and closing, as well as hairdryer noise. The train tracks are right across the street, but it wasn't noisy at night, perhaps due to infrequent service.
