The two of us booked an apartment because we wanted to take a weekend trip to Edinburgh. For the hefty price of €1,500 for four nights, our expectations were met. First of all: The room was attractively furnished, with decent, albeit too short, beds (at 1.84m and 1.90m, my feet were already hanging over the edge). The kitchen is small but fully equipped, but the bathroom is spacious and new. After a brief protest about non-working WiFi, a good alternative was immediately provided. What is absolutely unacceptable for this price, however, is the basement location. While the building is centrally located near Haymarket, many streets, bus lines, and tram lines intersect there. Accordingly, the trams rumble past the basement apartment day and night, which is quite annoying. They don't stop until 12 at night but start again at 5 in the morning. If you want to stay there, make sure you get a room facing away from the street and on the first floor or higher. Otherwise: keep your hands off.
