Apart Bernard Rooms

Envisage this: an appartment on the 2nd floor with a stairwell without any light (we had to use the torches of our mobile phones to get upstairs - very scary for 2 girls on their own); the "Homestay" is an apartment with 6 bedrooms and houses 14 guests; there are only 2 bathrooms (WC & shower) for 14 guests! Imagine, you're in urgent need of a toilet and both bathroos are occupied with complete strangers for 15 min each, taking a shower. What would you do? Well, I leave that to your imagination! Our bedroom had NO WINDOWS and NO VENTILATION!!! A total death trap in case of a fire or in case of a gas leak - I am sure that this is not legal. But who cares about consumer rights in this country??? Certainly not the people who rent out those rooms. (In their review section they state that there was CCTV and a staff member on-site during the night - which is a blatant lie!!!) Imagine, you're in your room, trying to get some sleep, and there are countless other guests entering that apartment, banging the doors, being noisy-drunk and keeping everyone else awake until the early morning when the door-babging starts again with all the guests who need to leave early. A TOTAL NIGHTMARE - do not book this accommodation under any circumstances... you will never see your money back as the owners of this accommodation refuse to communicate directly with clients (they are non-English-speakers); and *********** (through whom I booked that accommodation) refuse any responsibility and merely suggest to "write a review that helps the property to improve"

Few strong points of this place, Affordable, good location, staff very friendly and attractive, beds very comfortable. Down side, second floor with no lift and not the prettiest entrance of the building. Overall, more than what we expect for the price we paid.

It was okay: the stair well scared the hell out of us as it looks like a dark haunted asylum and someone had **** on the first floor as well. We got to our door and we’re filled with dread and about to turn back around however once inside we were pleasantly surprised. The room was immaculate and homely the beds were MEGA comfy. We were exposed to a guy in y fronts running from shared bathroom to his room. Very very loud noise from street police sirens all night but it was the cheapest private room/ shared facilities. Would we stay again? Probably yeah. Alone? Deffo not :) I mean we were on a horror weekeend so it added to the experience in a positive way

No tv, shared shower rooms, so loud with people coming in and out of their rooms early in the morning to use the bathroom. Could not sleep. Would not recommend.

Perfectly located right next to City Central train station. Heaps of great places to eat and shop close by. We especially enjoyed the stay with you. The bed is fully adjustable it was great , everything you need and so close to the center of town. Very modern but comfortable.

The room was okay once you get there, but getting there was the worse. Late and unclear communication, I looked for the place going up and down Bernard Terrace for more than 30 minutes. I finally got in touch with the facility, and was given instruction on how to enter the building, between the entry of the building and the room, it did not appear as if it was residential. Dark and dingy hallway and stairs, it was unbelievable!

Read carefully! Shared bathrooms. There are 2 but only one shower works. The drains are clogged and are slow to drain leaving you standing in a pool of water. The entrance is dark and dirty and climb up stairs.

Worst place I've ever been to. Sharing a bathroom with 5 other rooms that may have 2 or more people in a room. Can't get even worser. The place should be closed down immediately. It's the most useless place ever.
