Ard Na Said

Just spent two nights in the beautiful ard na said ! Perfect from start to finish. Rooms are spotless with everything you need. Stephen can’t do enough for you ! We will be back thank you ! Rachel and Tracey

Weekend to attend the Military Tattoo. Just happened to be Fridge week. A very busy city centre but not disappointing. First time in Edinburgh as a stop over so lots to see. The room was spacious and quiet. My only criticism would be the showeras it was slow to drain so you would be showering in a puddle. No hot breakfast but plenty on offer with a good coffee machine 24/7. I can’t say I missed the hot breakfast. Plenty of variety. Even had chilled beers should you fancy one during the day. A nice comfy room to relax in or take your breakfast back to your room. Plenty of good restaurants to in. My recommendation. The Rhubarb at Presterfield House about a 10 minute walk. Others being the Blonde and Hot Toddy establishments. You can walk to the city centre. About 35 minutes but the buses are convenient. 2 minute walk from the house to the bus stops. I would book her again

We delayed our trip because my daughter gave early birth and we needed to be there. I explained this to the ownership and gave 2 weeks notice, even offering to book at a later date. Even though the B&B was able to rebook the vacancy almost immediately, we were charged a 50% cancellation fee, over $550. We had to cancel at other B&Bs in Scotland and none charged a fee because we were able to give 2 weeks notice. This B&B is obviously out of line. Total transparency - they warn of a 50% cancellation fee with less than 30 day notice. Just be completely certain of your travel plans before booking here.

We enjoyed our late August stay at Ard-Na-Said. We felt at home and had everything we needed. Check in was easy. It was quiet and the neighborhood felt safe. We loved afternoon tea at Prestonfield which is a short, pleasant walk away. Also close by were several other good restaurants— we enjoyed the Wee Greek and Papaya Thai. The setup in the lounge area for coffee, tea, and snacks is great. It’s easy to hop on the bus to get downtown and also an easy walk to the base of Arthur’s Seat (though the hike up is definitely not easy!) We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Our room was so spacious and bed was fantastic & comfy. Stephen and his Mom are wonderful hosts. Offering dining suggestions, directions & answering any questions we had. The rooms are meticulously clean. The parlor offering snacks and light breakfast snacks were very much appreciated. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I spent two nights in Edinburgh, along with a brother and brother-in-law. It was a bank holiday weekend, and we were pleased to see that the Ard-na-Said is in a quiet area, just enough away from the busier city center. There were several restaurants within easy walking distance, and we enjoyed walking to the city center for our visits to Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat. We loved the charm of this beautiful place, with a common area for breakfast and drinks in the evening. One of the mornings we had breakfast in our room, which was comfortable as the rooms are spacious. Bathrooms were updated and lovely; linens were high quality and bed very comfortable. The host Andrew was welcoming, friendly and helpful, and we had parking for our rental car, which is VERY hard to come by for Edinburgh. We had two wonderful meals at Pataka and Wee Greek Kitchen. We would highly recommend staying here; it has the feel of a very high end place without a high price tag. We would absolutely stay again if our travels bring us back to Edinburgh.
