Simply a brilliant experience. The rooms and the onsen were clean, absolutely no complaints. The location is ideal, right at the foot of the temple, and we were even offered the chance to participate in the monks' morning prayer (at 5 AM, lasting about 2 hours) inside the temple, with explanations provided in English. That was a great experience. We also had a meal; it wasn't exactly to our taste, but it was an unusual experience.

Peaceful stay near Eiheiji… polite and friendly staff, the gorgeous bath, and above all, the shojin-ryori as well as the breakfast were all amazing. Would love to stay again!

Really nice building, room, food and onsen. Many opportunities to interact with Eiheiji temple. Only the sleeping pillow was a bit too hard.

Absolutely loved this place how quiet it was the beautiful surroundings. The river flowing at night. The service and food was next level

all is well. But Shojin cooking is not good. When I first booked, they said there were two options: Shojin ryori and ordinary Japanese cuisine. But a few days before check-in, after the payment had been deducted, they contacted me and said that only Shojin ryori was available. I have had a shukubo experience in Koyasan before, and both meals were Shojin cuisine. There is nothing wrong with Shojin cuisine itself, but the Shojin cuisine served here is neither to my taste nor filling. And you know Japanese inns, they serve 16 small plates in six courses, and give you a detailed description of what is so exquisite about each dish, creating an atmosphere that you cannot help but be satisfied. If you think the food is not delicious, it is your own taste problem. There is not even a convenience store nearby, and the vending machines in the hotel only sell drinks. It is no exaggeration to say that if I hadn't brought two loaves of bread with me, I wouldn't have been able to survive. If you must try it, listen to my advice and prepare some dry food.

The place was generally clean, and every corner of the building was thoroughly cleaned. The incense was wafting through the air, and the background music was soothing. The staff, including those in the dining area, were polite and helpful. The vegetarian cuisine was mildly flavored, yet had depth of flavor, and was very delicious. The lodging was more satisfying than I expected. However, the only disappointment was that the trash can in the bathroom was difficult to use and poorly made, which left an impression that was out of place.
