Best Two Star Hotels in EL Nido

From start to finish my experience was a joke. Water stopped working completely for one night. Housekeeping took my bikini off their own accord and lost it (the best I get it, we’re doing our best to find it even though the bag it was left in, was right there in lost and found) Loud fans and mosquitoes everywhere you go. Staff constantly will mess up your food + order. Staff always screaming and shouting. Not a relaxing / professional place at all. Good beach view.. that’s about all you’re getting here to be honest. Location is 10 minutes in a tricycle. Save yourself some time, money and effort.. go somewhere else.

We had an amazing and comfortable stay at Swiftlets. Perfectly located in between the town and Corong Corong beach. Friendly staff and Great breakfast. We were able to walk in and out of town which was a saving. However Tricycles are readily available right opposite the hotel. There is a laundromat opposite the hotel which was really cheap and efficient. The manager is very hands on and staff on duty 24/7. Great Value for money. We will definitely use them again should we return.

Not bad, soundproofing is a little worse

Disclaimer: This was during check out. Overall, it was a good value for money. I's safe and near the town and el nido dock. You can just walk to find food. Although, they don't have the best amenities, it was good. Most stays in El Nido are quite expensive so this one was a catch.

​I have a feeling that the worst room might have been allocated to me. ＞_＜ There is no hot water shower (This should be applicable to all rooms) Pull switch of fun doesn’t work The lamp of a bedside table was dead Mosquito nets are equipped to the windows and the door but there is a gap between the net and door frame etc. The door doesn’t shut properly. Toilet flush is broken. Pail of bucket is provided. Although the cottage is old, I like the concept. It is really located right next to the cliff. There is public space in the center. This property looks like a really cute cottage. There is a big table and a coffee table in front of your room, which is all yours. You can have to-go food there and drink coffee. Boiled water is provided every morning in thermos​ to each room​ but bring your own coffee as there is no amenity except small soap bars. The wall is very thin and it might be too noisy for some of you. The first night I stayed there was really noisy as there was a Karaoke party ​behind​ the cottage. It lasted till 2200. Also you will have to hear the conversation in the next room. Luckily a solo traveller stayed in the next room for some nights out of my entire stay so I didn’t need to hear anything from the next room. The sound of the toilet flush and shower might bother you. There is no TV and AC in the room but there are 3 AC rooms that cost more than 1,000 pesos per night. They have wifi but the signal is very weak. My iPhone picked it up but my laptop wouldn’t connect to the internet. There is a kiosk onsite. It is only 50 pesos away from the bus station (I arrived from Puerto Princesa by Cherry Bus)​ and walkable to the beach. I believe that every hotel in El Nido would have brown water, so just be ready for brown water. After I booked some nights from AGODA, I sent queries to the property but I got a very unfriendly and not-useful response after several chases. Service/hospitality isn't good. Don't expect it.​ When I had some issues about S-Pass, no one would help me. I heard that management changed at some point but I don't know when exactly.

El Nido is such a small hotel

Rooms are spacious, looks clean. There is free wifi, with repeaters on each floor. In the room there’s A/C, a ceiling fan, a TV, a dresser table and some wooden chairs. Some reviews mention dirty water and a funky smell. There is a slightly funky smell which you’ll get used to so it’s not a big deal. Water from the faucet was not that dirty in my opinion, probably depends on the supply. In each floor there is a common area where you can fix yourself free coffee and tea. Each floor has a balcony area, the 3rd to 4th floors have a great view of the bay. There is no elevator, only stairs. There’s intermittent power interruptions (not the hotel’s fault). For those times, there’s a generator that usually kicks in, you won’t be able to use the A/C but the ceiling fan should work. Location is great. Walking distance to the pier where boat tours start, lots of restos around, located centrally downtown. There is a small ref in the lobby where you can buy mineral water, but there are small convenience stores outside also. We usually leave the keys in the lobby when going out. We stayed 3 nights, rooms weren’t proactively cleaned while we were gone. It didn’t matter to us since we weren’t really messy, but some people might be looking for regular room cleanups. Prices are affordable. View at the top floor is great.

I have seen only bad reviews for this place and I can not agree. You have to think what little price you pay and what you get. I LOVED to meet all the dogs in the reception and the staff was always happy and helpful. I would never choose another place to stay in El Nido. I miss the dog Rambo already and one of the woman working there who always made sure we were taking care of. But if you have a problem with dogs, this is not the place for you.
