Property is outdated. There's really no swimming pool, the picture is deceiving. There was no water for a good amount of time, then when it came, no hot water. This property should not be on *******.

The pictures do not do this place justice. It's beautiful, backs up to the mounts, the grounds are well manicured, and the staff is amazing. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon!

Originally called the Hotel Pan Americano it was clearer a much grander version of what exists today. The hotel has been downsized and sits to one side of the original building. A series of rooms on two levels, it's location is enviable, but the architecture smacks of Panama past, cheap, fast construction with no attention to design or any hint of quality. The rooms have been through a hint of renovation, but no design or thought has gone into it. Worst of all, our room completely stank of clorox. The curtains, white and wafer thin, didn't block any light out from the garden lighting and for half the night the wind was whistling through the window that we didn't know was open because someone has left it like that. I was further shocked and surprised when I got up to go to the bathroom in the night and stepped into pools of water on the floor. (It was lucky that I didn't slip over. We could not work out where the water was coming from as we didn't switch on our air-conditioner. The only redeeming factor about the room was the bed which was large and comfortable. Breakfast was an insult to humanity. A miniature bowl of granola that you could barely get a teaspoon into was accompanied by an equally miniature bowl of runny yoghurt, 5 or 6 pieces of fruit from 3 days ago and two tiny bread rolls. If you wanted to eat anything else, you had to pay extra for it.

Beautiful surroundings and convenient location. Rooms are not as expected. No counter space, Wi-Fi is bad. No privacy at the bathroom you can look into through a small window from outside.

The best way I can describe this property is has kind of given up on itself. The room we stayed in wasn't clean - pet and human hair on the floor and in the sheets, a straight-up shoeprint and hair on the shower walls. It was also noisy - tons of vehicles parked behind our first floor room (were they workers? friends? It wasn't clear, but all the cars were gone at night), and lots of construction noise. I'm hoping that maybe the hotel is investing in some capital improvements and that's why all the construction vehicles and large dirt-moving operations. The hotel in general just seemed neglected: in our room, the toilet was rocking off its base, the faucets were all completely rusty. The main area where breakfast was taken had high chairs covered in dust, dead flowers on all of the tables. The outdoor "patio" had dilapidated, wobby and unsafe tables, half-opened cans of wood stain...there was just no effort at all to make the hotel common areas or the rooms nice for guests. Unfortunately the front desk person Natalie also just seemed...unhappy to be there (or maybe unhappy *we* were there?). She was kind of surly, seemed annoyed whenever we requested something, didn't smile at all. (The server for our breakfast was somewhat more pleasant, but the bar was low.) We left a night early because the experience was really subpar. Definitely seemed like there were nicer accommodations down the road at Casa de Lourdes and Mandarinos where we dined. Do not recommend Campestre.

The hotel is a bit dated which makes sense since it was built in the early1940's. However, there ae a lot of areas that need repair. The rooms were comfortabe if a bit spartan and the beds were not very comfortable. They were great looking with nice sheets and coverings, but the mattresses were too firm in my opinion. The service at the bar was horrible. They had a very limited selection of liquors and the bartender who also served as the receptionist was not able to make even the simplest drink (gin & tonic) with consistency. Breakfast was wonderful as was the service provided by the hotel manager who also served as our server. Th grounds are great though the dry weather had browned things a bit while we were there. All in all a decent place to stay but not worth the money in my opinion.

We have an amazing stay, We love that it was a pet friendly hotel, with a lot of space to enjoy nature with our dog. Thank you for your help finding information about other outdoor activities, and for the amazing breakfast!
