Ellerby Country Inn

5 stars. Lovely countryside hotel with a great breakfast. Room had a fridge and fan which were useful in hot weather.The restaurant was very busy on all 3 nights and you should consider prebooking a table. A menu with plenty of choice and good quality meals. All the staff and the owner were friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome. We left our car at the hotel (free parking) and went to Whitby using the x4 bus which stopped outside. Would happily recommend this hotel.

Very friendly & helpful staff lovely airy bedroom -fridge with bottled water & fresh milk ! A real bonus. In the evening We ate a wonderful meal outside in the very thoughtfully laid garden shady it sunny spots - very impressed with the food quality. The whole experience makes me want to return very soon .The location was great so near to the many different seaside venues .

This pub is amazing - the staff, the rooms, the food. It is a really lovely place to stay and I would return again and again. It is also in a really good location for visiting all the lovely little places dotted along the beautiful coastline. Will definitely be going back again.

Our room was excellent (Room 5) with sufficient space for 2 armchairs. Meals excellent. Staff friendly. We have shall visit again.

We stayed for two nights and are just sat in the dining room following a lovely breakfast. What a lovely place! We’ve never been before. I’m not great with names but all staff are lovely. Particular shout out to the lady who helped us with our bags and table reservations 😊. Lovely food and very comfortable room. We would love to return, it’s a lovely part of the country. If you’re considering it, go for it!!

One of many happy stays at the Ellerby Consistently excellent staff, helpful and friendly. Set in a tiny village with superb access to Runswick Bay and the coastal routes along this coast.

The staff might just be the friendliest in Great Britain. It made the stay a delight and we used the great conservatory space to watch a Christmas movie with our little one. Great food and great beer/wine. You need a car to access all the local things (Runswick Bay/Whitby/Scarborough/Moors) but we will come back each year as we love it.

Extremely friendly staff, we were stuck in the snow on the way to work and the lovely staff came out with free coffees and shortbreads for us all. Really kind staff and went out there way for us! Highly recommend visiting this lovely country pub.

The happiest staff I think I have ever met. Very friendly and helpful. Clean, tidy rooms very comfy bed. Everything we needed for a two night stay. The breakfast was lovely with good choices we also had dinner in the restaurant both nights. Great Gluten free choices all served piping hot and delicious. We will go again when we go over to Whitby again.
